Since I started The Master Cleanse my plan was to do for just 5 days. I am curious if I will get at least some of the benefits of the cleaning, even if I just follow it for 5 days.
I am a patience with Diverticulitis so I started the program to clean mainly my colon and diverticula. So far I have done 5 days, some days I feel better (the 2nd day I felt great) and some days I feel really tired and have headaches.
Since I am ready to finish my 5 days of cleaning that I programmed, I am curious to know if 5 days bring you at least some of the benefits. I feel that my intestines are way less plugged now and I feel lighter over all. But I miss working out on weights at the gym. I have been doing some very light cardio, but I feel I can go start with the Orange juice tomorrow *the 6 day* and maybe try the whole 10 days later, since this is my 1st time doing the Master Cleanse, I thought 5 days will be enough
Could please somebody tell me if I will get some of the cleaning benefits even if I do the program for just 5 days? or am I jeopardizing even more my health my interrupting the 10 days process...
You are half way to the minimum of 10 days
which would give you a much deeper cleanse
than 2 fives. If you can muster up the will
power to go the rest of the distance for the
minimum, I do not think you would regret it.
thanks so much for your reply!
yes, my plan was to stop in day 5 this time
but then the 2nd time to do the whole 10 days!
I guess I will see how I feel tomorrow morning to see if I start with the Orange juice alreadt or if I follow the 10 days... I know that even if I do it for just 5 days, I have to come back slowly to eat solid food... so thinking of that is why I want to stop the lemonade today & tomorrow start Orange juice and then in 2 days start the veggie soup.
If I can't make it this time to the whole 10 days, for sure my next time I will more prepared to finish a whole cleaning... as I mentioned this is my very 1st time doing something like this, and so far I am thankful of how I feel my system has been cleaning, hopefully I can keep it for longer!
I'll say this much. Doing it for 5 days is better than not doing it all. You just can't expect much when it takes the system 3-4 days just to empty itsel. It takes about 7+/- just to start "adapting" to the fast. You've gotten though what are usually the hardest days. Nother 5 days will pass before you know it.
thanks for the reply & support! I might try to do it for at least 7 days then... to confess I am not really *that* hungry, I am more worried of coming back to eat normally, I know it will take a couple of days to get back to eat normally, even if I am relatively a healthy eater lately. I really appreciate your input.
I am on day 17 of my first cleanse. If I can do it, anyone can. Before this I had never skipped a meal and was afraid to even miss half of a day without food. This cleanse has really helped make me aware of what I was doing to myself. I feel better, I sleep better and my thoughts are clearer. I hope you do the ten days, youv'e already come half the way!
I suggest reading the reviews for the book - Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days By Peter glickman at amazon.com Many positive things are said about the minimum 10 day cleanse.
Sorry to rain on your parade but Glickman is just an opportunist "computer programer" that is just cashing in on the dieting craze and jumped on the dieting band wagon after the celebrity gossip rags started touting the MC as some kinda miracle weight loss diet. His book and website exist solely for the purpose of separating you from your hard earned money.
One can get much better "real world" information from the real world experiences of real folks in forums like this one here for "free".
Generally after 3 days real hunger ceases and after that anything else is more habit and or the desire to chew. There really in not much to worry as far as going back to eating "normal" food on a 10 day fast. You are not putting your sytem though anything drastic. I have done 8 MCs. 21 days is the shortest and 6 40 dayers of which one I just finished last week, no probs whatsoever but the benefits are immessurable including getting rid of chronic shoulder and wrist pains after my 1st which was a 40 dayer.
So fear not, 10 days is just a minimum. It takes 2 weeks for the system to fully adapt to fasting and after that is when the real cleansing at the cellular level is actually just getting started. For me if I'm gonna go through all the preparation and rearranging my life etc I want to get some "real" cleansing done. I consider 21 days the "minimum" MC.
