Most likely a symptom of detox. When I first started pulling, I had diarrhea off and on for a couple of weeks. The longer I pulled, less bouts of diarrhea. At 2 months of pulling, none at all. My body had gotten rid of whatever was causing "the runs" and I felt much better.
I think the loosened bowels are a good thing, and now that you mention it i have had a couple of really good s**ts since i started doing the oil pulling over the last couple of days.
I would do a colon cleanse, if you havent done one already.
When I have to do a BM, it's like it HAS to be right then. Sometimes I can barely make it to the throne in time without filling my pants! I might reduce it to twice a day for a wile, or switch to Sesame oil for a while. I'm going to do it for 20 minutes in the morning, that's for sure. :-)
OP can elicit dormant herpes infections. The old posts I read when I had a terrible sore on my tongue suggested it was from oregano oil, but I believe just the OP process is enough to do it. The good thing that I read was that if oregano oil makes you have an outbreak, it can be the last one you will ever have.
You might want to add some oregano oil to your base oil. Although I really would not add it to coconut. I am reading so many posts with people pulling with coconut and having uncomfortable reactions. There is no point in equating discomfort with efficacy, and other oils are equally beneficial in their own ways! So if you are using coconut, having a bad reaction -- switch oils, or mix another oil with coconut, or cut down -- the bad reaction means it's time to give it a break!
Thanks for your posts guys! glad to see I'M NOT ALONE!
-lol, i too have to RUN to the toilet as soon as i have bowel movement now, at first the stools were loosened, now its runs....
-i've taken a 4 day break, and i now oil pull before dinner....this is 2 hours after my last meal, and around an hour before dinner...IS THIS OK?
-since this, (2 days) i havent had any dodgey diarreah, and i pray this is my soloution. my skin is still looking great, and my eyes are sparkly...honestly this stuff is amazing. i just use regular unrefined sunflower cooking oil! My mum thinks i'm mad, but i guess i ntiem she will catch on (as always) - as shes seen some health practises work over the years, i am very selective over which methods i use, and this is one of them.
-hey laura, thanks for your response! could it be, that the oil pulling brought out MY dormant herpes infection too?! ok, this is scary, but i began oil pulling about 3-4 weeks ago, which is WHEN i had my first outbreak. my ex-partner claims to have had no outbreaks..EVER. i will try oil pulling coconut oil...as far as i know i'm not allergic, my family abroad and i drink coconut water alot of the time. and my mother adds coconut to our food. i'm a bit shy of oregano oil, it seems so potent...i will be taking olive leaf extract soon and maybe Colloidal Silver ...wont oregano oil be too much to add to this?
its promised that this may never come out again. the 2nd outbreak is so very mild. another thing...if oil pulling gets rid of toxins and old meds, i bet taking acicloyvir and then flushing with oil pulling could cause another outbreak? I think these methods work best when the body is free of any current meds.
Hi Georgina :)
I'd be interested to know how things go with your herpes breakout. Whether it clears etc...
I'm planning on starting oil pulling very soon. I had one go the other day just as a test to make sure I didn't gag and throw up lol! I used coconut oil and was planning on using that to oil pull regularly.
The posts I read when I had the horrible sore in my mouth (I think I searched for "oregano oil" and "herpes" or something like that) said that oregano oil would force herpes up and out for good. I have never had cold sores on my mouth or genital herpes -- this one was on the bottom of my tongue and one doc treated it as a canker sore even though it was enormous, then I happened to go to my real doctor and told him about it, and he said, "I can't believe that people are still not calling canker sores 'herpes'." Apparently we are all born with dormant herpes -- there are 5 kinds, with oral and genital being just two.
I'm not familiar with olive leaf extract or CS, but I do know that a little oil of oregano goes a long way! I would not rule it out for down the road. And search the site for oil of oregano and herpes -- it is pretty interesting! I was prescribed famvir during that episode, but ended up not taking it, and I hadn't started using coconut oil. which is anti-viral.
So, I was Oping everyday, sometimes twice for two or three weeks and then my schedule got changed and now I OP every other day and sometimes do a marathon pull on the weekends. I didn't notice any freaky symptoms of pulling with cocount (and I have HSV-2, haven't had any breakouts...but then, I think my particular strand of virus is pretty latent....)
also-- I would add one capsule of Oregano oil to two tablespoons of VCO and sip and pull, spit, and repeat. didn't notice anything freaky with that, and I probably did that 2-4 times total.
Kind of fallen off the OP wagon as far as every day, but for me the biggest difference I could see was that brushing with soap made my teeth feel SO much cleaner, and I do that 1-3 times a day. I have noticed a reduction in morning breath though that could be a cleaning up of the diet as well. I don't have the dragon breath emanating from me, but I can feel a localized "funk" taste wise in my teeth when I wake up....so perhaps that will go away over time as well.
I DID end up stopping pulling with VCO because after awhile the taste got to me-- it tasted good initially, I'd put a cold glop in my mouth and pull, but now-- I just like using it on my skin. Perhaps it went rancid or something and my body's telling me no-- though it still smells fine.
I'm going to get some tropical traditions EVCO and try with that.
it all depends, but I just wanted to point out that pulling with CO and occasionally adding Oregano Oil doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be struck down with mad detox (and I wouldn't consider myself a particularly "healthy" person diet and exercise prior to joining curezone.)
I would say that the runs would be caused either by your body detoxing, which is good, or the oil you are using. You could try a different oil, maybe sesame. I use sesame and coconut and never had the runs. Well, not that was caused by the OPing anyway. I would start with once a day and then go up from there gradually so your body can get used to the detox without causing you to explode.
About the herpes...it is very possible that the OPing brought out another outbreak. This would also be part of the detox. Just like you get a rash, sneezing, coughing or any other reaction. Your body is getting stronger and trying to fight the herpes and the herpes are fighting back so you get an outbreak. Just like die-off I guess. Always gets worse before it gets better. Coconut oil is fantastic for herpes. It is antibacterial and antifungal so it will fight them. I would suggest using the coconut oil for cooking and even taking some during the day...maybe 1/2 tsp a day till you can work your way, slowly, up to 3 tbsp. This should help your herpes outbreaks immensely. My husband suffers from cold sores...which is herpes simplex 1. He has broken out every couple of months with sores all the years that I have known him. Some years more then others. When I started cooking with coconut oil he didn't get a sore for about 7 months....it was from April to October. In October I had ankle surgery and couldn't walk for 6 weeks. He was doing the cooking and started using olive oil to cook his food again, or whatever was handy but not the coconut oil. After about 3 weeks of eating his food cooked with other oils he had a nasty outbreak. I tried to tell him that it was from changing the oils but he thinks I'm crazy. I know thats what it was. I think the coconut oil will help you all a lot. I hope this helps.
