Well, I get the "clean mouth" feeling and improved mood from most of the oils I've tried, but these seem especially pronounced with flax. My teeth also feel stronger/sturdier, if that makes sense. I've actually just been using it for a few days now, so these are just the preliminary results.
I have been an Olive-Oil disciple for a few months now. Always get chunks of mucus out of my throat afterwards and feel a mood increase. Plus, my teeth are lovely. For whitening your teeth, coconut oil seems the best but other than that coconut oil seems worthless to me. What are the benefits of HEMP?
hemp is said to have the perfect ratio of omega oils, 3-6-9. like i said, i dont pull with it, i just eat it as a food supplement. others will have to answer your question about pulling. molly loves it.
In defence of coconut oil -- it has resulted in so many good things for me, I almost don't know where to start:
The end of Keratosis Pilaris, a skin disorder
Smooth skin all over
Very pink tongue
Very pink and tight gums
Very sound sleep
No more stiff and sore joints
Greater joint flexibilty during yoga
Less gray hair
And a very flavorful pulling session
I loved coconut oil, too. We are out right now but I loved pulling with it and look forward to doing that again. I tend to not pull with expensive oils, but to eat them, though I sometimes pull with coconut or flax when I'm feeling flush!
What strikes me is how individual everyone's response is to the various oils. I have seen over time people really love oils that others can't stand. Coconut being a great example. And olive, which I used for a while and didn't mind (didn't love it, but was perfectly OK with it), seems to disagree with many.
I remember a couple of months ago when people were experimenting with all sorts of oils (Molly is the Oil Queen, I think!) and they elicited such different reactions.
If you don't like an oil, chances are someone else loves it -- and, that someone else can't stand it either!
Well this Oily Queen is sliding right off her throne....LOL!
I truly believe that we can't debate which is the best oil. I think we all know the good properties of oil, and depending on what you want FROM your oil, that is how I'd begin to pick oils to try. If you want perfect 3-6-9, then Hemp is King. Hemp also tastes pretty earthy....and by that, I mean EARTHY. The flavor will not be for everyone.
I tried to pull with Flax but the flavor was so awful I just wasn't enjoying the experience.
Lately I've started messing around with coconut. The taste is incredible, and I've notice yet again, more teeth whitening.
Prior to pulling I was embarrassed to smile nice and wide. I am no longer embarrassed. My teeth are not movie star quality, but for me, they are the best they've looked since my youth.
I think debating the best oils is like having an argument about the best wine. To each their own, and different people will derive different benefits from each.
Miss Oily Molly ... ;-) Which is your favorite oil and why? Oh and since you say that each oil has it's benefits which one do I pick if I want:
and, of course, world peace
Well, IF you want World Peace, I'd definitely pick Hemp.
What I was trying to say (I'm not always very eloquent) is that each oil seems to react differently with each person. Some want for Omega's, some want the amazing skin benefits you seem to get with coconut.....
I'd say it's always going to be self experimentation. Enjoy the trip.
Lately I've gotten into Coconut. My teeth get really white with this oil, don't know why, not questioning it, just going with it.
Hi Molly, my teeth are also very white with coconut oil. It is hard to not want to swallow it though, it is yummy! Yesterday I used it as a facial moisturizer out of desperation due to ACNE. I never get acne but for about 2 months have had terrible facial acne - I now know why people complain SO MUCH about acne - UGH!!!! But today, I woke up and magically the pimples are GONE! My skin looks like it did before THANK GOD!!!!! That definitely makes me rethink coconut oil...!
