Haven't seen anyone posting recently who is using Castor Oil for oil pulling. Went back to beginning of this forum and found 1 person but didn't find any follow-up. Anyone using Castor Oil or have used in past? I tried it for first time yesterday. Reason is, Castor Oil gets great endorsement (Edgar Cayce recommended it for just about every ailment) for curing so many things but usually I read about Castor Oil packs which is topical application. Anyway, I figured if it was that good for so many things, it would be good for pulling. I don't know anything about Castor Oil's properties but if anyone has any info, I'd appreciate hearing.
I found the Castor Oil quite thick for first 10 mins or so of pulling/swishing but then it thinned out. That's about all I can say right now.
Whenever I OP, I use castor oil. It is fantastic. My skin is glowing and my pores are much smaller now. I chose castor oil because I thought it might activate the lymphatic system even more than other oils. I do not know if that is true or not, but gave me the courage to try it. Now I love the feeling of going from velvety thick to thin....I know it sounds weired :)
The night before last I was sitting at the table with a friend who was lamenting the fact that he couldn't really pull oil anymore as he just found out his has nut, seed, corn, soy allergies. He eliminated olive oil because it can cause your teeth to go green --and he has beautiful white teeth he wants to keep that way. There happen to be a bottle of castor oil on the table that I'd used earlier that day (making some capsules up as a laxative). As a kid people always used castor oil as laxative and I've used it for quite some time for a family member who has serious colon problems from an accident. It has been a God send.
ANYWAY, he pointed to the castor oil and said...what about that and I thought, well it can be ingested, pulling oil would probably be fine. I will say here that a little birdy was whispering in my ear saying...Don't use a product that you know comes from a plant that has toxic qualities unless you have researched the specific application. Well I was busy and somehow that thought got pushed back from my mind. A while later we both pulled oil with castor oil...it seemed fine, didn't taste bad (was fresh). The next morning I will say I woke up feeling wonderful - clearer of head that in a long time. I thought..wow I should use the castor oil agian today. But as the day wore on my mouth started to feel really funny and that little birdy started chirping again...you should probably research more on castor oil.
Imagine my HORROR when I found a study involving some lab animals and it proved that castor oil when in prolonged contact with the mouth will destroy DESTROY saliva glands. I freaked OUT! Like I said my mouth was feeling really funny, dry and tingly at the same time. I called the place my friend worked and told him to come home immediately. We did huge amounts of green drinks of parsley and cilantro, we pulled oil with olive oil (the hell with green teeth). We took activated charcoal tablets. We did coffee enemas. We prayed. I was scared to death and kicking myself for being such an idiot. He seemed fine (he's younger and has a healthier body). I finally got some of the symptoms to subside, but still have a weird feeling. I specifically came here to warn anyone considering it.
DO NOT. DO NOT. DO NOT...use castor oil in this manner.
I admit I freaked out because of the symptoms I developed the day after pulling castor oil, but I am starting to wonder. I will reiterate that when I pulled the castor oil....the next morning I felt fantastic..I mean better than I had felt in I don't know how long (months, maybe even years): clearer, lighter..even my sight was clearer. But as the day wore on I got the worst, scariest feeling in my mouth..it tingled and burned; it was dry and (now I realize VERY metallic). After finding the study about saliva glands --being affected it freaked me out. Mind you the study wasn't on humans and it wasn't from oil in the mouth (see below)but it did show castor can destroy saliva glands.
It's been over a week now and I'm still not back to normal, I've been dumping metals like crazy ...way too fast for comfort. I think the castor oil may have started this huge metal dump. MAYBE the symptoms I was getting were not castor oil damage per se...but metal dumping. (That's why I decided to post an add on to my original post --maybe I jumped the gun blaming the castor oil for the feeling the metals were giving me when they came out). Also, I did a bunch of cilantro in an effort to remove any toxins the castor oil may have left...and that no doubt added to my metal dump. (I should say this is no doubt related to the Amalgam fillings (which I had a lot of as a kid/young adult, but had taken out decades ago.
I've been experiencing waves of metal dumping. All of a sudden my mouth will be completely enveloped in the most horrid metallic taste. Stirring up all these metals in bother my liver and rt. kidney...so that's no fun either. I've been doing everything to help my body lock on to them and rid itself of them...coffee enemas, pulling sunflower oil, Taurine, and fresh parsley, cucumber, Celery juices. I know there are a lot of other things people suggest, but many herbs, and supplements bother me (I've got lots of food allergies). The metallic taste will then subside and my liver will feel better for a while then...the next day or even that night bam...it starts over again with that horrible metal taste and I respond accordingly. I really hope this ends soon, I'm pretty tired of it. I'm really torn about the castor oil, honestly that first morning I woke up and felt the way I did I could have jumped for joy...I thought I'd really hit of an oil that pulled the toxins out and made you feel great. Maybe I did; but I'm too leery to try it again.
Regarding the study:
Turns out the study I had found was about feeding castor oil to farm animals, evidently, when they do that...ticks which suck the farm animals blood have their saliva glands destroyed....so castor oil does nasty things to saliva glands but the question is..does it affect our saliva glands when in contact with them or is it something that happens only have the oil has been processed by the body and changes the blood chemistry.
Sure wish someone here knew more about this.....
I used organic castor oil yesterday and today and I feel great. In fact, I love the way my mouth feels and I did pull a lot of junk. I am pleased to say that I enjoyed the taste and I feel great. I did, though, order the camelina oil that Dr. Gittleman recommends. I only used the organic castor oil because I had nothing else. Good thing is, I do not have any of the side effects mentioned by Meg44. I only have very positive results. Seems that the saliva glands of the insects may be destroyed only because it is a far smaller life form than a human. It's just my opinion that the castor oil is very thick. I think that if the study was done with olive oil, that it too would be the same results, olive oil is just as thick and might have the same effect as castor oil on the ticks' salivary glands after they suck the animals' blood. Again, this is just my opinion. Hope you feel better Meg44.
