I was using coconut oil more than a year ago. I have had problems with being toxic, having digestive problems and having a trash and fecal body odor. I was taking coconut oil internally and externally.
When I rubbed the coconut oil on my body, I would stink REALLY BAD. Even after washing my pillow cases and sheets, they still stunk like a trash can. It stank up my whole room. Nobody would go in there.
Back then it scared me away from the product. Now I have been thinking about starting it back up, especially since my body odor has improved after much cleansing. Has anyone experienced this?
lol, sorry for laughing but I can just imagine how bad that was!! I used to have this problem, and it was funny because for the longest time I didn't know where the smell was coming from. Sometimes I put it on my face or in my hair. But I've noticed that if I have it on my body for more than 12 hours it starts to smell rancid. I'd suggest you go back to using the product, but this time be aware of the strong odor? :) hehe
btw, I've never noticed a smell from eating it, and I do eat it fairly frequently.
I'm glad you found it humerous. I hope you never have to do more than imagine how bad it was. It's not the coconut oil necessarily that creates the rancid smell, it's the toxins that are released through the skin due to the application of the coconut oil.
I was wondering if I would have continued to use coconut oil, if that would have passed, since my odor was so bad, I had to discontinue to use it. I realize there are some people with my health issues who do not work, becuase they are too humilitated, who are able to keep using it and see how well it helps. I hung onto my job out of financial necessity and could not take the chance of going to work with coconut oil applied to my badly smelling skin.
Have you looked into cleansing your body?? What is your diet like? There was a time when I used a certain perfume, and it created a smell that was horrible when it mixed with whatever my skin was getting rid of. This was years ago.
I use coconut oil as a moisturizer and I don't smell bad at all. I use it after my morning and evening showers.
When I started "alkalizing" my diet, Liver Flushing, exercising & taking Coconut Oil internally (I started out with WAY too much), I started having the worse BO when I woke up. I wake up sweaty now. This is when I started taking detox baths to remove toxins from my skin.
Take an Epsom Salt Bath this weekend to help clean your skin. Go to moreless.com or the Ask Moreless Forum for different bath ideas. I took the Baking Soda, Peroxice an ES bath when I had the odor. I always smelled wonderful after each bath.
Thank you for your advice! Maybe I was taking way too much. I took 3 tablespoons per day internally and then I put it on externally...and MAN DID I STINK! I think I'll take it slowly and carefully this time.
What do you mean by waking up sweaty now? Is it your body detoxing quickly?
I am actually on my 24th Liver Flush right now. I am waiting for my second dose of Epson salts. I've done a lot of other cleanses too and nothing caused me to smell as bad as coconut oil, so I figured it was either really good for me, or really bad. :) Thanks again. You're awesome!
Yes, that is way too much. You're suppose to start off with a 1/2 tsp. I took 1-2TBS AND I was drinking coconut milk. That was too much, too soon.
Take it slow and take a detox bath to clean your skin.
I don't know why I wake up so sweaty. I think the alkalizing diet, cayenne and coconut oil raises my body temp. Similar to taking a thermo fat burner. When I do wake up sweaty, I take a detox bath to kill the smell and get rid of the toxins.
I would drop back down to 1/2 tsp of coconut oil and stick with that for awhile.
