I've got thick mucus stuck to the back of my thoat that looks like it runs down my asophagus. I've actually got back there with a Q-Tip and pulled some off. It's really thick, dry, and sticky. Could this stuff be covering my entire asphagus? I've got this feeling that something is stuck in my thoat. Sometimes if feels really back and sometimes I can hardly feel it. Also, when I eat food it sometimes seems like it goes down real slow. What could be causing this mucus build up, where is it coming from and how can I get rid of it? Should I go see a ear, nose, and throat doctor?
Coconut oil stopped the excessive mucus in my throat. Nutiva brand at GNC 1 teaspoon per day. I don't have to clear my throat continuously anymore. It is solid at room temperature but it melts in your mouth. Pleasant coconut taste if you like coconut. Simple but I think works.
I have the same problem, especially in winter when I tend to easily become dehydrated. Trapper's salt water gargle will help remove the thick mucus. I wanted to suggest a mucus removal fast that really helps me when things get very bad. Its very simple to do, but you do need three days where you can be at home for the most comfortable results. Every morning drink two cups of prune juice. For the rest of the day alternate drinking pure water and apple juice. Do not eat any solid food at all. However, if you simply cannot fast, you can try eating a few raw apples chewed until they are liquid in your mouth. This fast helps push mucus out of the body. While you are doing this, it helps to keep a vaporizer going so the steam can help loosen mucus in the sinuses. This is a rigorous three days, but the results will last a long time. If you discover the foods that tend to produce the most mucus in your system, then you can either reduce or eliminate them altogether.
Remember that mucus is a natural and necessary part of our system, without it we would die. The thing is to produce only the mucus we need for proper digestion, breathing, lubrication, and elimination. The excess, caused from some factor that irritates the body and causes even more mucus to be produced, is what we must learn how to control.
Rick...For a quick fix...make you a broth, chicken or whatever...and add lots of
cayenne pepper.(As much as you can stand) If you can...even add hot peppers, cayenne or whatever you like...to your foods for at least today.
You can also hold your head over a sink of hot water....and those sinuses will open
up and it will drain on out.
Either of these will help immediately...but if you do both...you'll see a miracle
In the meantime...leave off all mucous causing foods, dairy, sugar, etc.
I'm In a rush...but try this...it should fix you right up.
