I just finished day two of my lemon fast. I was doing the p/b shakes twice a day for about two weeks prior to get
used to them. I am now taking five per day as recommended. I have two questions: Since I am a 200+ male
should I be taking larger shaked (presently taking one heaping T of psyllium and a level T of bentonite). My
second question has to do with probiotics. I was reading some literature from Holistic Horizons about the
"Robert Gray Intestinal Cleeansing Program" and it was suggested in this literature that a cleanse like the one I am
embarking upon will remove the beneficial lactobacteria along with the stagnant waste. He suggests using his product which
combines a bulking agent while multipling the exisiting, implanted lactobacteria. Have you heard of this?
Yes, some people say that taking a good probiotic while bowel cleansing is a good idea....that the good bacteria helps break waste down etc etc. But most people usually start taking an excellent probiotic AFTER they have bowel cleansed. It is usually easier to implant good bacteria in a clean bowel. Who knows...if you take the probiotics while cleansing...you might just be flushing them down the toilet along with your mucoid plaque! hmmmmm....
I think the amount of b&p's you're taking sounds excellent! Do let us know when you get some mucoid plaque out!
I've finished day 3 of my master cleanse. I haven't felt hungry yet and things are going quite well. The salt water in the morning is not the greatest but otherwise all is well. I have been getting some "ropes" but they are all the same color as my regular bowel movements. My most recent BM was liquid and psyllium. Hoping to "drop my liner" soon."
While I don't really like the salt water part of this cleanse (who does?), I feel that if I am going through the effort to do the cleanse then I may as well do it to get the best results. If doing the salt flush every other day is better then I will do that, however, if it is better to do them every day then I can handle it.
Hi Hdueck...Of course you can do the salt water flushes as often as you'd like! But...even every other day isn't giving the b&p's enough time to do their thing. Some people don't do the Salt-Water-Flush at all while doing the b&p's (me) and have a bm every day (which is the important thing...to eliminate toxins etc)....others do the Salt-Water-Flush on the weekend just to clean everything out totally.
I finished day four, my toughest. I went out for the afternoon with my family and ended up staying out until 10:30 pm. I ran out of "food" and hit a wall. I even contemplated quitting. I am realizing how much of my life revolves around food. I didn't do the salt flush this morning and did not have a BM. I will try the salt flush again tomorrow morning.
Remember that you have NOTHING in your system, right? So...the fact that you didn't have a bm on the day you didn't do a salt water flush is not surprising. There's nuthin' in there! If you let the b&p's do their thing (they take a while!), without salt water flushing - then you'll get a whole lot more solid stuff out. I promise! People rarely get out solids when SWFing. If after 3 days of taking the b&p's you still haven't had a bm (while taking one herbal laxative tea at night before bed)....then I suggest doing a SWF.
Remember to drink water! Warm water!
You can do it Hdueck...think of this as a time of discovery about yourself and your habits! You'll have grown immensely by the time you're finished this cleanse!
I did the salt water flush this morning and had about 4 BM's. The first one was solid with quite a bit of brown mucusy stools and then the rest was what I assume to be psyllium. In the next two BM's I pass 3-4" flat globules that were obviously mucus because they didn't come apart.
I'm not sure where I read this but is it true that the salt water flushes can irritate hemorrhoids. Mine haven't bothered me for months and today they are worse than ever.
I am confused because I just read " The Master Cleanser " by Burroughs and he insists that the salt water flush is necessary to keep the toxines from building up.
I'm not taking any laxative teas before bedtime. I am drinking my lemonade and 5 p/b shakes per day.
I will not do a salt water flush tomorrow and see if the hemorrhoids go down.
PTree will know more about hemmoroids and the SWF's. I wish I could help there...but, if they're acting up right now, it could be connected with the SWF's.
Yes, Stanley Burrough's Master-Cleanse is pure. If you weren't doing the b&p's I would say flush flush flush away! He's right, you need to flush out the toxins. BUT, since you're adding the b&p's..that is exactly what they do...once you've got a build up of matter in there..you'll have a bm daily and you'll be releasing tons of toxins, believe me! If I were you, I would do a mild herbal laxative tea at night (not recommended outside of doing the Master-Cleanse with b&p's!!) and continue with your b&p's...you'll be releasing plenty of toxins.
Start your day with warm water, too, that stimulates the bowels to move.
Diarrhea of any sort...including that which is experienced when using laxatives or doing a salt flush...can irritate hemmorhoids. You might try some tea tree ointment...healing and also very soothing. Also keep a thin layer of it on the area prior to using laxatives or salt flushes to keep them from flaring up.
Is it ok for me to use a laxative tea. If my hemorrhoids get much worse I may have to end my cleanse early.
I didn't flush today and I had a small BM with three 6" brown ropes.
Besides the "roids" I feel pretty good as long as I don't go too long between shots of lemonade. I'm not sure what to do when I take my shakes. Do I have to have one hour of no lemonade before and after my shakes. This seems to be a long time and I get a little light headed.
Thanks for your support. Day 7 is done and I don't crave food so much because I'm hungry but because I'm ready for a different taste and texture in my mouth. I bought some herbal laxative tea but I'm going to hold off (see post to PTree). I plan on finishing my 10 days.
I always recommend enemas or colonics to keep things moving while doing a cleanse...not laxatives.
Feel free to drink your lemonade whenever you feel like it...and also make sure to drink plenty of water.
You may want to add a bit of oil to the shakes...some folks include olive oil. By drinking plenty of water and adding the oil...it may help to soften and lubricate so that what your passing is not quite as hard or irritating to the hemmorhoids.
I'm through day 7. I had a few small BM's - mostly psyllium and a little bit of gunk. I bought some herbal laxative tea but I think I'll hold off because things are still moving. I will give my colonic therapist a call and book an appointment for this week. How many sessions do you recommend. I plan on fasting three more days. I also purchased some tea tree ointment and will give that a try.
You won't find it in Burrough's book on the MC...when you combine the Master-Cleanse with a P&B cleanse it is known as the Ultimate Fast...which also includes a parasite cleanse if you do the whole program. You can run a google search for the Ultimate Fast...I'll post the link if I can find it.
