Here is an article that rates Mangosteen as the highest
anti-oxydant by far. 17,000 ---- 24,000 orac compared to other popular anti-oxydants such as vitamin E oil 3,309 orac. & prunes 5,570 orac. Noni juice 1,506.,& tOxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC)
You already know that antioxidants are important to your overall health
But just how much do you really need, and where can you find a good source?
LIVE QUESTION by Rod:
Hi Dr Templeman . . . supposedly the researchers at the USDA claim that to provide meaningful antioxidant benefits, you need at least 2400 to 3000 Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) in your daily diet . . . are you aware of this testing and if so, what would the XangoÔ score be . . . we are told one ounce of cranberry juice has a score of 328 and a product called Metberry has a score of 3147 . . . any truth to this??? Thank you . . . Rod.
LIVE REPLY by Dr Templeman:
Rod, XangoÔ has been analyzed by two labs and one had a value of 17,000 and the second a value of 24,000 ORAC per one oz dose. I don’t know of anything else out there that’s anywhere close to it. We’ve got a winner . . Dr T.
You read it correctly . . .
Newest lab tests show XANGOÔ as being the #1 antioxidant product on the market today!
See Product and “Whole Food” comparisons below:
Xanthones are found in Mangosteen.
Mangosteen is the primary ingredient found in XangoÔ.
A NEW CHAMPION is BORN!!
Compare all to XANGOÔ at
17,000 to 24,000 ORAC per one oz (30ml) dose.
Berry Young Juice Ô 4,214
Vitamin E Oil 3,309

17,000 + found in XANGOÔ
Adding ORAC-rich fruits, vegetables, oils, herbs and vitamins presents a remarkable antioxidant application for neutralizing accumulated post-exercise free radicals. High-ORAC value may help slow the aging process in both body and brain. There is a need to balance reducing free radical expression in two mediums – water soluble and fat soluble tissue sites.
What are the top foods for reducing exercise induced free radicals??
Q. What is oxidation?
A. Oxidation is a natural process that occurs around us all the time. One example of oxidation is rusting. This EXACT SAME PROCESS HAPPENS IN YOUR BODY! – The cells, organs and other parts of your body can be made weak by oxidation. This can lead to diseases like cancer and heart disease.
Q. Is there anything I can do to stop this oxidation damage from happening in my body?
A. YES!! One of the best ways to stop oxidation is by choosing the right foods to eat. The more oxygen radicals a food can absorb, the higher its ORAC score.
Q. Why must we be concerned?
A. When oxygen free radicals get the upper hand over antioxidant activity, the result is an imbalance known in scientific jargon as “oxidative stress”. This simply means that the free radical thugs can overpower our antioxidant potential. Unfortunately, as we age, our bodies tend to produce more free radicals and fewer antioxidants, potentially leading to mental and physical decline. This ‘antioxidant slowdown’ is said to begin at around age 25, making it necessary to take in supplementary antioxidants as you get older, in order to maintain a youthful balance.
According to research we need about 3,000 to 5,000 ORAC units per day to have a significant impact on plasma and tissue antioxidant capacity
he highest vegie Kale 1,770 orac
Gidday Anunnaki, theres some kiwi in that name, isnt there?
Yes the ORAC rating is not to be confused with vitamin C strength
I am not sure of the scientific terms ,but apparently the average adults body is bombarded up to 10,000 times a day by these radicals trying to enter healthy cells to mutate them. To my mind everybody should have fruit in their diet to help fight the cancer process.
Well my friend I take 2 large serving of fruit consisting of 6 kiwis per day :) I also take many anti-oxidants at high strength:-
Grapeseed Extract 120mg
Vitamin A, C & E 10000IU, 2000mg, 800IU
Ascorbyl Palmitate 500mg
Alpha Lipoic Acid 200mg
I also take structured water which acts also as a anti-oxidant because of its electrons which help fight free radicals. I drink this before and after food so the burn up process of a free radical is hindered. I also take many fresh vegetable and cook them correctly to give me maximum output like a carrot needs cooking for 500x the assumilation of beta-carotene and the more you lightly good a Tomato the more Lycopene is given off. Taking plenty of Onion also.
FREE RADICALS BYE BYE hahahaha
What you think of my protocol ? I Zap, drink 3x Ozone and 200ml Colloidal Silver a day on top of this with many other high strenght vitamins, minerals etc. WOW BRING IT ON MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT haha.
Wow , youve got the light infantry, the cavalry,& a couple of thousand Sioux on your side. All you need now are the cannons,(xanthones) to complete your armmement. Go for it! Have you read our websites yet?
Yes Im using all my guards right now as I will not allow the Illuminati to dictate my health. I have had a quick read and its interesting. I've been taking Aloe-Vera for a long time now but was looking at the Noni juice recently. This Mangosteen sounds pretty interesting indeed!
That article about "Mangosteen as the highest anti-oxydant by far. 17,000 ---- 24,000 orac" must be old. You can go to this web site and read about Cancell which has an ORAC of 1,081,886 and a HORAC of 45,003:
Yes, Cancell is effective against both peroxyl radicals and hydroxyl radicals. It is the only antioxidant that is effective against both. It is also effective against Superoxide radicals.
I don't sell it, but I keep it around. I use it against viral infections. Hay, it works and quickly.
Gidday Snowman, There are apparently quite a few drugs, & even alternative combinations in the form of tablets or capsules that claim very high anti-oxident combinations. For people who prefer totally natural phytonutrients ,the organic whole fruit puree of Mangosteen /XANGO tm is the highest orac rating.
I know which my family would rather swallow.!!!!!
Good point Thunder. Cancell is far from a natural product. Paw Paw (see link below) works in a very similar manner and is completely natural, it even has that antiviral feature that Cancell has. I would love to see Nature's Sunshine run antioxidant tests on their Paw Paw, but I am only one voice.
Hey Snowman great minds think alike. We are thrilled to bits this last couple of years because we have been able to grow a hybrid relative of the Mountain papaya , called Babaco. It is a huge yellow fruit with 5 flat sides & pointed like a rocket. It tastes like lemon sherbet,& makes excellent sorbet,& sauces, both savory & sweet. The greatest thing about it is, it has 4 times the papain (digestive enzymes) of the pawpaw,& much more palatable than the Mountain Papaya. As we dont live in the Ecuador Andes where Babaco grows naturally we consider ourselves quite fortunate be able grow them ,& get ample fruit Down Under!
Because they are a hybrid they must be propagated vegetively as they dont produce seeds. There are some grown in southern California so depending on where you live(the name "Snowman doesnt sound promising) you maybe interested .They are ideal for a small area even a patio or balcony as they will grow in a large pot. I have listed a website about them for those interested . Talk about tenderising meat, nothing like Babaco.
Hi Thunder, thanks for the Babaco link. It said that they grow " as far north as the San Francisco Bay are." that's where I live. The Snowman is due to my name Paul Winter. I am a gardener so this is an interesting possibility. Although I mostly grow flowers to create a refuge for my spirit, I also grew vegetables and fruit or my belly. I have orange, Apple, plum, and fig trees, I bet I could fit a Babaco in there somewhere.
Gidday Snowman, That is truly a beautiful garden & an excellent photo. To my mind we are certainly nearest to heaven in a garden.
Trouble with mine is it is slowly reverting to paradise because of my Mangosteen juice business. However, if you can grow figs its likely a Babaco will thrive . They only grow to about 7 feet so you dont need a lot of room. Because of my interest in herbs & other medically useful plants, I have quite a few unusual ones like, Yakon(peruvian ground apple), licorice plant,(I am chewing some now),african horned cucumbers, chinese artichokes,American ground nuts, ocas, chilean,& strawberry guavas, pepinos, tamarillos(tree tomatoes) & heaps more. When I work out how I will send you a photo of Babacos.
