I am rotating antifungals and started my first day of Caprylic Acid capsules, I took 2. Next day I read the label and see that the dose is 3 per day. So I have my second one with lunch. Had some nervous anxiety but ignored it. Had another capsule with dinner = 3 for the day. Went to bed, had the most horrible waves of anxiety, I really battled to keep calm, heart pounding, trying not to hyperventilate. I can only think that it is related to the Caprylic Acid. Next day I only had 2 and still had some anxiety in the evening, not nearly as bad though. Today I only had 1, thankfully tomorrow I take something else.
I cant think that anxiety is a die-off symptom is it? Anybody else have problems with side effects of Caprylic Acid?
I had a post down below with a very detailed account of die off and I am pretty sure it said that anxiety, depression and the such can be die off reactions. I have suffered from anxiety/panic attacks and finally figured out it is PMDD (aka: really bad PMS). When I took Caprylic Acid I thought that I felt better while I was taking it, now when I did Oregano Oil I felt horrible all the way around, panic, anxiety, weak, no energy you name it. I believe Olive Leaf leaf left me feeling some of those things, but not as bad as Oregano Oil. Perhaps your body does not tolerate the Caprylic very well like I feel my body doesn't tolerate Oregano Oil.
I would finish the round, and document all your symptoms etc. for each anti-fungal and then next time if you come to Caprylic acid and have the anxiety again, I would probably take it out and try something else, I have read about so many antifungals and some are even better than caprylic acid.
I have been taking Nystatin for 3 months and just recently switched to Olive Leaf Extract. Two days after the switch I am in major pain - right elbow (tendonitis), and upper back. Is this a "die off reaction"? Do you think it's from getting off the Nystatin, or getting on the Olive Leaf??
I have/am seeing many holistic doctors and am also self-medicating (confusing, huh?).
I'm taking other things besides the Olive Leaf: Cod Liver Oil, a Super Multivitamin, Perfect Food, Primal Defense, Mg/K tablets, B5/B6, and fiber (alternating Psyllium and Herbulk). My gut feeling after reading lots of things on the internet is that the Olive Leaf is pretty powerful stuff and is likely causing this reaction (not to slight the Nystatin withdrawal). I'm also on a very good antifungal diet (Fungus Link Phase 1).
I just have to keep up the hope that this is part of "healing" and not needless suffering....thoughts?
Anyone else had any experience with Olive Leaf Extract (mine's from Seagate)?
With all the information out there I am in a permanent state of confusion!
I came to the same conclusion, I also think my symptoms were die-off. The good thing about die-off is that it doesn't last too long. I am taking a supplement called 'Hep 194' from Biocare, to assist my liver cope with the toxins. It's got milk thistle amongst other things. You might find that helpful. Actually I started these a month before the antifungals.
Caprylic acid in liquid form (known as Caprol) is more effective than caprylic acid tablets with less side effects. I've had amazing results. It should be used with Bentonite and psyllium. I can post more info if you want or you can go to the wholeapproach.com site to read about it.
