I don't know if you are familiar with Andreas Moritz but in one of his books he mentions that water fasting (nothing else) for 3 days will cause the candida to retreat back into the lining of the gut. I am doing very well with this yeast problem recently, what I consider to be liveable if you know what I mean by that. However, I still have a few uncomfortable times so I may attempt this to clear it for good. Let us know if you do it. I have done many Liver Flushes where you eat lightly and no fat the day of the flush and I starve, so it will definitely be hard. Yikes!
It is in his book Timeless Secrets of Health and Rejunvenation. This book is packed with tons of great info. I highly recommend it.
Thanks everyone for your input. I would tend to agree with the clean bowels being a must. I have undergone about 14 colonics in the past 4 months. I feel that they have been instrumental in putting me where I am. Although I still have a very light coating on the tongue, it started retreating toward the back after I started the colonics. And the most recent observation is that it is clearing down the center. Pretty neat! At least one time per colonic, I will have a little discomfort and when she releases it, very warm and dark gunk comes out. She says it is old bacteria being released. Whatever it is I always feel great after that happens.
Wow to the 9 and 10 day fast. I am hoping to just be able to do 3 days. You are an inspiration!
AT the end of March, i did a 9 day water only fast. That was not long enough to kill the candida but it did put the little buggers on the run. The whole time I fasted, my stomach was flat as a board, no gurgling or gas and even more amazing, I never even sneezed one time (I have upper respiratory issues.) In fact my sinuses were Crystal C..
From what I understand, a 3 day fast is great for detoxing while more than 3 days is needed for your body to go into ketosis and where actual self healing can take place. I opted to do water only since I have read that you detox much more quickly. I mean, if you have to suffer, why not go for the whole shebang? They say a 10 day water fast is equal to a 30 day juice fast.
If one were doing a long fast like, broth or juice might make more sense or if one is very toxic. A 3 day is relatively easy except for the detox side effects. However, if you have already been on a restricted diet, like most of us are, it shouldn't be too bad.
Good Luck with it. I highly reccomend it. I have definitely decided to incorporate fasting into my life. If I were "normal", I would think it better to eat more and fast either monthly or bimonthly rather than live always restricted.
I'm finally posting the results of my 5 day water fast. Unfortunately, it alone was not enough to cure me. But I think I've found the root cause of my problem. I'm allergic to gluten. Gluten is in any product that contains wheat including flour, bread, beer. This came back from a blood test that tests your blood against 100 or so common food allergens. The test was called "comprehensive food panel". I reccomend it for anyone who is experiencing candida-like symptoms. I've been on a gluten free diet for a month now and feeling great. You can be allergic/intolerant to gluten and not experience an immediate reaction after eating it. The cummulative effect of eating it over time can start to cause leaky gut syndrome which opens the door to candida and Sugar sensitivities.
