Phenominal discourse! I like it.
"the human somatotype remained the same. Hence, physically, we are very much like people of a long time ago"
I have been bothered by that all my life. I wished we could still see evolutionary changes taking place. I suppose that would create fears among the weak though, but that does not need to be the case.
But it would help to quiet the religious ones who deny evolution of evolutions was obvious!
i had posted a thought about why the evolution of most species is not going on much now. We are not seeing it happen, but we never would have seen it - its just too slow, the changes are too minor.
I postulated that there were conditions for change in the past, up to about 50,000 years ago. Less general stability in geology, temperature, etc., due to the remaining acts of the earth forming . A full one-third of the earth's life will be in formations, and that period is just ending now by most estimates. We are in for a long long time of stability now. I hope it doesn't get too hot.
Along with stability comes less evolution, less need to adapt is the reason.
