I have recently been going through treatment for Chronic Lyme disease that I have had for fifteen years now. While seeing my LLMD, and explaining some of my symptoms, he tested me through Genova for parasites and my sample came back positive. My positive didnt match any of the strands the test has for detection though, which makes me nervous. He therefore started me on a pretty intense regimen for the parasites.
Some of my symptoms are/were:
Ravenous hunger for about two weeks out of the month. Then it would calm down for a week or two, always in the same pattern around the same time of the month.
Symptoms start around 4 or 5pm and peak around 8pm and then die down around 11pm
Loss of fingernails
Severe constipation, I mean I will not go for days without a laxative, then when the ravenous hunger calms down for a week or two, I will have a bowel movement in the morning here and there on my own. Never at night.
My stomach is always bloated. I cannot even wear jeans anymore, I am always in yoga pants.
Some of these symptoms are Lyme related as well. I have also had bad seizure like symptoms known as HERXing, but with the diagnosis of parasites, I am terrified because I have so many different things happening all at once. I am scared. I truly feel like I am dying.
I tried the Candida Diet for a few months strictly (I mainly eat grain, soy, dairy and Sugar free) but when the symptoms flare and the parasites are hungry I grab whatever I can and all that hard work goes out the window. I know its making it worse, but its just too strong sometimes.
I did the first round of the parasite cleanse for two weeks on a month ago, I got a high fever, throwing up, coughing up yellow mucus, couldn't get out of bed sick. I could barely eat. Then for two weeks I stopped ALL herbs and medications to let the eggs hatch. Within two days the hunger, the irritability the night binge eating was back full force. The symptoms were there as well during the cleanse, but stronger when I am off the medications. I then started the second round. My Lyme symptoms have been flaring at the same time so I didnt notice a high fever or anything as strong as the first round, but after finishing I did an enema daily, sometimes two and I have been passing really terrifying amounts of "stuff." I think I am in a bit of denial here, but is it parasites or is it Candida. Like I said, beforeI was diagnosed with anything I did a Candida Diet and it really helped, I just had to follow it so strictly and even now, following that basic plan, its still there.
I am off meds right now on my break for two weeks before I do my last round of medications and herbs starting the first of March. I feel like death. It starts at 5pm, every night like clockwork. My eyes get red, Im ravenously hungry, I cant sleep, Im so tired I cant even walk to the bathroom and if I give in and eat carbs or sugar I feel better, until the next morning. Vicious cycle.
Thanks for listening. I feel like I am losing my mind here.
Heres what I have been passing. I cry when I see this.
I guess I wasn't clear. I'm trying to identify what type these are. I'm worried it may just be candida? Has anyone else experienced anything like this. I'm really scared. Going to call my Dr today as well.
Thank you for your reply. I have been seeing a few Drs. A western medicine doctor as well as an acupuncturist and herbalist. I have had all my vitamin and mineral levels tested and studied for my certification in Nutrition and Wellness Consulting as well trying to figure out my health issues.
My problem is depletion, if I take anything high in B vitamins or even selenium, I have a bad reaction. I was so sick I hadn't even had my female cycle in 2 years.
Thank you for your reply though.
Your specimens are most likely Ascaris Lumbricoides, a species of roundworms/nematodes.
Adult Ascaris appear as long, round-shaped worms, & off-white color.
The brown worms in top & bottom pics have been stained by fecal matter.
The clear worms in middle pic are casings containing clumps of feces.
Your bloating, irritability, restlessness, insomnia, increased appetite, constipation, & carb/sugar cravings are common symptoms of roundworms.
Coughing up mucous is a sign of Loffler's Syndrome. The coughing is caused by eggs hatching into larva in the lungs, coughed up in mucous, & swallowed into the GI tract, where they continue their life cycle.
In the past few years, many types of parasites have altered their genetics & evolved into mutant versions. They conceal their presence in complex biological ways that defy detection & reponse by the immune system.
Also, their mutated forms are difficult to identify when compared to standard lab profiles in stool specimens, bloodwork, & sputum tests. Thus lab results are usually negative or undentifiable parasitic organisms.
Hope this info has been helpful for you in your parasite battle!

Thank you, ICU, for providing this poster with sound information. I really wanted to address a response provided by someone earlier who, IMHO, gave inappropriate information. So frustrating that such misinformation is still making the rounds.
Hi, first off, what kind of meds does your doctor have you on for the parasites? Is it natural or prescription?
Next, if you cannot tolerate B vitamins, you may have a genetic condition called MTHFR. You can be tested for it. I used 23andme.com. I couldn't tolerate B's either and now I take hydroxy B12 (methylated).
