Hi. I've noticed a white coating on the back of my tongue that never seems to go away. My wife has been noticing severe halitosis that started around the same time this thrush appeared. I just bought some apple cider vinegar from the grocer, but will it 'cure' this and how do I use it? Please, only those who have tried ACV and gotten positive results need to respond!
From my understanding, clear acv has little effect. The cloudy acv with "mother" is what helps. If you suspect candida as the cause of your white tongue (rather than bacteria) while acv might help to some degree, using it alone might not be enough. Usually, there are many more symptoms than just a whitish tongue, though many don't realize they are all interconnected. Suggest looking at other candida symptoms and considering a full candida protocol.
ACV, which I have been only using for the last week everyday religiously (one teaspoon in water 3 times a day), has seemed to clear my tongue really well. I agree with Candi - I use Braggs Raw ACV. (It is only like 4 bucks - one of the cheapest things I have tried so far!)
I also agree with Candi that you need to do a comprehensive program - diet, probiotics, and antifungal - to get at the root cause of what is wrong. There are a lot out there - do your own research to decide which one sounds best to you. (There are a lot of options listed on candidadiet.com). I use one by Jordan Rubin - my tongue back months ago was so furry, it was hard to swallow -disgusting. Primal Defense, coconut oil, and a low-carb, Weston Pricey diet has gotten my candida under enough control that I only had a thin coating.
But the ACV has seemed to make my tongue almost pink in a weeks time- so if your main concern is just your tongue and bad breath, I would definately try Braggs ACV!
Thanks so much for your reply! Since Bragg's is not available locally, I opted for some plain old Heinz ACV. This is the 3rd day and the results have been outstanding. Will take your recommendations for diet and probiotics into consideration as well.
Glad to hear you have had immediate results; that's all good.
FYI - Plain old heinz doesn't contain the 'mother' which cloudy acv like braggs does. From my understanding, the 'mother' is what contains the antifungal properties. I wonder what other properties of acv might be helping you so rapidly: say like blood Sugar regulation or, perhaps some acidity to your saliva which prohibits candida growth. Interesting.
Regular apple cider vinegar without the mother is still very alkalizing, from what I understand. Making your body more alkaline is very good for getting rid of candida - lemon or lime juice will do this as well.
