Last June I had been trying to detox heavy metals. I had taken Powdered Zeolite Pure and then started also on Humifulvate, Complete Metal Cleanse by Enzymatic Therapy.
In fairness to these products, at times I took more than the recommended dose of the Humifulvate because I thought that it was helping me and was simply a natural product, so less of a risk. Stupid me.
In July I started to get severe dizzy spells which lasted till mid August. Then I retried the Humifulvate to try to change whatever it had done to me. When I did the dizziness decreased significantly, but then I got these horrible jolts which occured at night right before falling asleep. They were like lightning convulsions!! Really horrible. Then I retried the Humifulvate to try to change this and I got less of the jolts, but shifts in my body during the day, pain in my hands, jerks and trembling.
When I finally got to a practitioner he told me I had depleted my electrolytes and to start taking salt immediately. The salt and other supplements helped, but the one thing that has been helping me has been iodine.
I can't express to you what a nightmare this has been. If it hadn't been for the Iodine (and the salts) I don't know what would have come of me.
What did the Humifulvate do? Or the preceding Zeolite?
Apparently, rid my brain of electrolytes. Or suck the Iodine right out. Getting these back has not been an easy road. I get Bromide detox symptoms and can only take very little of the life saving iodine at a time.
Perhaps these products are good in a certain context. Perhaps they are better than other things. But if you are already a sick person and happen to deplete your electrolytes while on them BEWARE!!!!
I had a different experience with humic acid. I'm taking the Active Liquid Minerals brand http://www.4alw.com/liquid-minerals/
Overall, this is a great supplement. This supplement reduces heavy metal and candida\fungus symptoms. The problem I have is when I forget to take the supplement, I experience severe constipation, lasting several days, even weeks. Does anyone out there know why humic acid causes these symptoms?
It could be die-off. I know both zeolite and humic and fulvic acids can create die-off if you are toxic enough. Constipation is common with die-off.
To the other poster, I have never heard of humic and fulvic acid doing this. What you described to me sounds more like die-off also. If you have heavy metals in your brain and you start to chelate them, you can go through a healing crisis. Dizziness, is not uncommon with a healing crisis and I'm pretty certain the being shocked feelings you are common too with heavy metal toxicity. I know I have them with lyme and sometimes my hand and legs will jerk by themselves, and it sometimes feels like a jolt. I also have heavy metal issues so I'm sure this could be contributing to it as well. I have been using zeolite which has humic and fulvic acid in it. This particular product has been getting lots of recognition and I think awards. I am definitely having die-off. I've wanted to sleep all day and I feel like I have the flu, i.e. runny/stuffed up nose, alternating sore throat, headache, feeling more tired than usual, asthma kicked up, etc. Besides the zeolite, I am also taking an anti-parasitic and stuff for candida, so it's probably just a big whammy hitting me all at once.
I don't doubt that die off can cause many types of symptoms including neurological ones like shaking and having your hands move suddenly. In my case though, I have certainly had die off symptoms before, but never with the neurological responses. I have also had symptoms from mercury exposure, as when I had my Amalgams removed, and they were also bad, but not the same sort of thing. At least in my case, no neurological symptoms.
Though I think the Zeolite Pure which I had been taking first did lower my electrolytes (at least a hair analysis at the time seemed to show this clearly) even though it was helpful to me!!, it was the addition of the Humifulvate to my protocol that seemed to really knock me into severe neurological symptoms (which I didn't have any of with the zeolite). And I mean severe dizziness, extremely severe jolts at night, severe shifts and convulsive movements and pain in my hands and on and on, a true waking nightmare.
It seems, like I mentioned, that the one key factor which is helping me has been taking Iodine (and iodide). Which could point to the Humifulvate having the effect of removing Iodine from the brain (at least in my case).
I am not saying that all humic and fulvic acids would have the same effect. I do not know! Perhaps the effect of each will vary according to chemical composition. One thing I read though is that the actual mechanism by which these act in the body is unknown.
So....please, if using any of these be Extremely Careful for your own sake.
It does though me wonder if the makers of Humifulvate ever heard of such cases in their own country??? And if so did they simply dismiss them as having to do with something else? Not bothering to look into it too much?
Does Humifulvate have an affinity for iodine?
Whatever it does it seems it could possibly put a susceptible individual through HELL and cause very real damage, as in my case. Or even at low doses can it cause some sort of undetected low grade injury? Even in otherwise healthy individuals?
The research to answer this will probably have to wait for many years to come.
an update with some good news and perhaps a treatment that could further help anyone experiencing brain difficulties
so it has been over 2 years since I posted these emails
I have been on the Sea Salt and Iodine protocol which has continued to help me, though at a very slow rate
the damage I wrote about has continued to get better, less soreness, but the upper left portion of my brain still remains very very sore and I have difficulty driving and still with moving (even walking more than half a block) or lifting (because the lifting seems to cause? pressure in the same area), in summary it has been a very slow hellacious healing process
though perhaps some good news:
some potential help for brains and good news is that a treatment based on phosphatidyl choline (which I take as liquid sunflower based lecithin) and also a combination of sunflower and flax oils seems to also (besides the iodine) be helping my brain!! it seems to have sped up the healing process and I have less pain/soreness and greater ability to move!! which has been life saving for me
so I thought I would report this along with these entries
if you are having brain complications like I have reported here perhaps it could help you as well?
I get the oils from Lekithos and Body Bio (and don't make any money whatsoever from it)
also, I learned this from the Patricia Kane protocol which is related, but I only have taken the oils orally and not intravenously (as they do in that protocol), I think for me it might be way too much to take anything intravenously at this point
well, I hope this may be of help to anyone going through a similar experience, it seems as part of all this complication, my brain was starving for oils???
