Only thing that i would do is a few weeks of chelation using the cutler protocol and maybe looking into lowering your copper level with small doses of zinc every meal. I would also look into the uranium problem, I am not sure how to sort that though other then a clean diet.
(1.06) for Mercury is really not that bad. I have seen people with chronic Mercury poisoning that have results of (7.0) and around so the (1.06) is not that bad. I would get 2 bottles of 25MG DMSA and 2 bottles of ALA and use the cutler protocol until those bottles are gone and then you will probably be in the safe/normal zone again. I use VRP labs and KIRKMAN products because they both have 25MG sets. I would use both sets up and call it good and or get another tests after you leave it a few months and you should be fine.
I would also not worry about fish for Mercury too much as you can always do a month of Chelation every few years and keep the fish Mercury in check.I would however not eat fish that are anywhere in the pacific as im quite paranoid about the nuclear fallout from Japan lately.
I have actually been taking ALA (and now RALA) for the past 6 weeks or so, but will have to look into combining with DMSA.
I would have hoped that the high mercury levels would help to explain my chronic fatigue and IBS, however if you believe that the result of 1.06 isn't *that* high, perhaps I'm no further to finding the cause after all. I'm actually having another hair analysis test conducted by a different lab, so it will be interesting to see if the results vary a great deal.
Regarding uranium, I've lived in Japan since 2003. I eat steamed salmon every day, however it's typically Norwegian or Chilean. Yesterday, I picked-up a tray of fish caught in the waters of Hokaido (the north island of Japan)...then put it back - I'm perhaps less paranoid about the nuclear fall-out than most, however we cannot be too careful.
Do you have any thoughts about the high idodine or low chromium/iron/manganese? Also, would further supplementing with zinc to reduce copper levels not increase the zinc level?
Now reading that you live in Japan kind of worries me about the uranium level in your body. I do wonder if you had the test before the Fukushima problem or after? I would in your position get my uranium level check out to make sure its not a dangerously radioactive type. I know for sure that the radiation is a lot worse then JP Gov and TV are making it to be and in your situation i would buy myself a device to test the radiation in my house, garden and my water. I would really be looking into it as its for sure not something you want in you system.
Also DMSA is key to Chelation with ALA, its synergistic. I think of it as the ALA pulls the metals from the places that DMSA cannot as ALA is the better Chelator but the DMSA works great with the ALA because it acts like the sweeper that comes in and picks up any mercury that that ALA has Chelated but not removed from your system and the DMSA will take its own Mercury from your blood and other places as well.
I would also recommend taking selenium as i hear that it helps bind metals and can work to protect the liver. I urge you to take milk thistle as well because of its very protective functions on your liver.
I also have Chronic Fatigue and i'm well on my way to getting rid of it completely. I can tell you one of the main things that can cause the fatigue is yeast or candida problems. Its kind of a synergistic format to infection with CFS. Its in my opinion caused by misuse of anti-biotic or anti-viral medicine that then causes die-off of good bacteria in your gut that leave you open to infection and that's when from some yet to be known source you get what ever virus causes CFS. I also know that when this happens the Candida yeast take over your body and pull you down to make you tired. I know now that the virus that Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome is caused by infects the white blood cells of your body and it is my humble guess that what actually is happening in the body of a Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome patient is like a nuclear war of damaged "by virus" white blood cells trying to kill candida yeast in your body but never being able to because of their own structural damage thus your body uses so much energy trying to boost your immune system as to kill the yeast but fails due to the same damaged white blood cells! Its then that the other problems happen because of the yeast such as brain fog caused by the alcohol the yeast produce in your body as we eat and this causes brain fog and tiredness just as the CFS symptoms show. I then find many many people with CFS also have acne or dermatitis or very bad dandruff and again its caused by the yeast.
I am working on the cure and right now i'm getting very positive results. I recommend Chelation + Candida Diet + Blood Electrification and i also wish to state that they should all be done at the same time.
Blood electrification helps get rid of old white blood cells that have been damaged and the body replaces them with knew health cells. Next is to get the candida under control and that's with the use of the candida diet! You have to follow it solid for about 1-3 months depending on how bad your problems are but the key is using a good pro-biotic and the one i recommend is something that is enterically coated so that it can get past your stomach acid and to where it really needs to be, you see that the normal pro-biotic that are not enterically coated may have 30BN bacteria but its no good if only 2000 out of the 30BN survive due to the stomach acid and let alone dieing off by being left on a store shelf for ages. Next you need to just get bad crap out of your body and that's where Chelation comes in! I said that yours is not too bad and that's true but any mercury is bad mercury so its important to get rid of it as best as possible. I'm a purist so personally i would keep going and getting tested every month until i'm as close to (0) as i could get.
Candida can cause IBS by the way, enterically coated pro-biotic get rid of IBS so get yourself some of those anyway and cure that little problem. :)
I did really worry you would say that you were from Japan as besides the study of my own CFS/ME, my other fascination has been with radiation and Japan. I would say that with both the uranium and Iodine you could have radiation poisoning as a high amount of radioactive iodine-131 was released in Japan when the Fukushima Diachi plant went bye-bye. I would strongly, strongly urge you to get to a doctor and get the types of uranium and Iodine checked out! If you have not been taking Iodine supplementation or eating a lot of seaweed then i would really worry that it is actually radioactive iodine-131! If you got it checked and it is what we fear then you may be best off supplementing with normal iodine to cut the risk of cancer in your thyroid gland. If you do get tested and it is that then send me an email as i will try to do all i can to help you get rid of the radiation if at all possible.
I'm not sure why you would have a high Zinc level and in general people with CFS/ME are low in Zinc if anything. I really can't comment on it. There may be other ways to lower copper like diets that avoid copper rich food but i really am not sure to be honest other then using Zinc when eating meals.
I hope this posts helps you as long post is long ^_^;
~Also please forgive my sentence structure as i have pretty bad dyslexia, if anything it helps me understand things better then normal people but damn... it does not half make reading and writing messy haha :)
In a nutshell, a couple of years ago I was a fit and health 28 year old with a passion for cycling, yoga, and raw food.
I had a relatively minor fingernail infection which didn't clear-up with creams, so the doctor prescribed a course of antibiotics and steroids...which I took for just over a year.
It's been at least 18 months since I stopped taking the medication after noticing some symptoms (tiredness, excessive sweating when inactive), however my condition doesn't really show any signs of improvement. I've stopped practising yoga, limit my cycling to just the 10 minutes to and from the office, and have switched to a cooked food diet (steamed veggies, fish, eggs, and good fats - no sugar).
In recent months I've used the ParaGONE and CandiGONE cleansing kits from Renewlife, and am currently taking their FiberSmart supplement (with addition L-Glutamine, and Aloe vera juice stirred in in the morning) and LiverDetox cleansing kit.
I receive regular acupuncture, chiropractic, B12 shots+Meyer's cocktail intravenously, and drink a Japanese/Chinese herbal medicine three times a day to relieve constipation.
As for supplements, I've been taking the usual: vitamin C, B12, Zinc, Heme Iron, ALA/RALA, along with Olive Leaf, GSE, Oregano oil, Coconut oil antibacterials, and Syntol AMD probiotics.
I'd like to think I'm doing all the right things to try and improve my condition, however my symptoms just seem to deteriorate continuously. I work in an office, and therefore do not require too much physical energy throughout the day. However, my job as a technical writer requires considerable mental clarity, so the 'brain fog' and lack of concentration tends to disrupt my productivity.
I appreciate your concerns about the nuclear fall-out from Fukushima, however my symptoms began long before the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Japan is a beautiful country, with warm compassionate people...it's been my home for over eight years, and I honestly cannot imagine living anywhere else.
The next step I am looking into is ordering a CDSA2.0 test from Genova Labs, which I hope will provide a little more clarity as to why my condition is as it is. My diet has always been very 'clean', with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables (no processed, junk foods), up until I started taking the antibiotics/steroids, my health was generally excellent.
(((doctor prescribed a course of antibiotics and steroids...which I took for just over a year.)))
Here is your problem, just like i suspected :).
Do you have AIM or MSN as it may be more simple to get a lot of information out if i was talking to you live. I also want to make sure you know that i was not talking about the radiation causing the condition but being an area of concern not related to your current problems.
Let me know, PM me regardless and i will see what i can do :).
Yes, the potential radiation exposure is obviously a concern, however. However I believe I am at the same level of risk as everyone else in this city, so will remain here with my Japanese colleagues and friends.
Zinc and Selenium are chelators so it is good to take those. Except - make sure they are the "chelated" kind (e.g. "zinc citrate"), otherwise it is a waste of effort and money. BTW, when I saw your uranium levels, I was going to ask you if you lived close to a nuclear plant... and then, I read the rest of your post...
I would stop eating fish which is rich in mercury. Choose sardines and perhaps smaller salmon and trout as those are the cleanest and stay away from bottom feeders (sea bass), and those at the top of the food chain (shark, swordfish, tuna).
You did not say what was the exact antibiotic that you took. It can be essential piece of information.
In japan, one easily develops candida problems due to their heavily fermented food. However, six months of candida diet with no sugars and nothing fermented (no miso, no alcohol, no sake, no starches of any kind such as rice, potatoes, dough etc) combined with probiotics and at least one strong anti-fungal such as nystatine, should produce results. If it doesn't, that means you have some other problem (as well).
To get rid of mercury and uranium (do not understimate those two! There is NO such a thing as "safe" level for either - we are talking two most toxic elements on the planet!), best to use Edgar Cayce detoxification protocol: start by taking some atomidine, one drop in the am, one in the pm, on empty stomach, 30 min before food; increase by one drop every day, until you reach at least 7 drops twice daily. If you feel better, you may go up to 8-9 maybe even 10 drops twice daily. (don't eat too much Iodine rich food at that time). Your symptoms are very likely to improve by that time. Then, reduce the dosage back to 1 drop twice a day. Then, take an Epsom Salt bath in a saturated solution of Epsom Salt in a bath tub, in as hot water as you can take; start with lukewarm and keep adding hot water until you start to sweat. Keep that for about 30 minutes. You will probably continue sweating even after you finish with the bath. (Get up slowly from the bath, you will feel week and may faint if you are not careful!).
This will get rid of not only mercury and uranium but other toxins too (brain fog is a result of toxins, such as mycotoxins). You can repeat this type of epsom salt bath every week. Even twice a week is safe.
The advantage of such detox is that toxins will go straight from your blood and tissues into sweat and into water. Epsom salt relaxes sweat glands and improves release of toxins. Any other method, Cutler included, necessarily has a much more complex pathway which inevitably leads toxins either through liver or kidneys - which one of the two do you consider unimportant? You get the idea: every detoxification is re-toxification. Most people just keep moving toxins around...
You can also start taking atomidine as a regular supplement, one or two drops a day, it will work as a natural antibiotic for you. See if you feel better with it - you most likely will. If not, then don't take it.
best of luck!
ps. I would choose carefully what I eat after all the events with Fukushima disaster... and eating beef is a good thing for those who suffer from CFS, especially grass fed beef. Eat organic, and stay away from algae as they absorb bad stuff too, when ocean is dirty as it is now. I would also not even touch any shellfish or crustaceans.
- The only fish I eat is salmon, for the reasons you mention. It's relatively low down the food chain (compared to tuna and swordfish), so is relatively safe, surely? Perhaps not.
- I don't know if it's necessarily true the candida is common in Japan due to a tradition of fermented foods such as miso, natto, shoyu, tsukemono etc. I believe these 'living' foods are helpful for digestion and maintaining a healthy gut flora. If candida is on the rise in Japan, it is more likely due to the rising popularity of Western (typically American) diets, with lots of processed grains and refined sugar.
- Thank you for the link to Edgar Cayce - I am reading about the technique now.
- I had not heard of Atomidine either, thanks.
- The earthquake and tsunami were absolutely devastating, with thousands of people still unaccounted for. The Fukushima nuclear power crisis was and still is also very concerning. However, short of leaving the country, I don't believe there is a great deal more that those living in this country (both Japanese and non-Japanese) can do. This is my home, I'm staying here, and will therefore continue to eat the local produce sold in supermarkets.
- It's a good one! You may not have to take it all the time; you can take a break for a week or so here and there.

- It is a large fish, so it accumulates mercury, depending on where is grew up (Alaskan should be relatively safe, don't know about the one you are eating). However, sardines are the safest as they are eaten much younger so they have less time to accumulate any toxins. Personally I would eat salmon in moderation (once a week at the most) and sardines twice to three times per week.

If candida is on the rise in Japan, it is more likely due to the rising popularity of Western (typically American) diets, with lots of processed grains and refined sugar.
- Unfortunately, fermented foods support candida and it is "necessarily true" that candida problem is (partially) caused in Japan by their food habits. Fermented foods are actually not that great, despite what you heard. Just think of it this way: is fermented food "alive"? How would you compare a fresh green leaf of a salad with a spoon of miso on "liveness" scale? See what I mean. Any food which is not "alive" which has been sitting around is breeding ground for fungi of all kinds.
- One other thing: most fresh foods are covered with fungi too. For instance when you buy grapes or plums, the purple "dust" that is on them is a fungus. Therefore, you have to dip everything fresh in hot boiling water and count "one-thousand and one, one-thousand and two" and then take it out and prepare it and eat it within minutes. Do not just rinse it in fresh water, the fungi will stay on it.
The fact that salad is not covered with the same fungi you have, does not matter: what matters is that all fungi have the same incredibly resistant material in their cell wall - chitin. So if it is ingested, it reduces your body ability to dissolve chitin from candida as your chitinease is used up on the newly ingested fungi...
Thank you for the link to Edgar Cayce - I am reading about the technique now.
- Read all you can from his readings, there is tons to learn!
I had not heard of Atomidine either, thanks.
- It was channeled through Edgar Cayce , from "above". There is nothing better and more important in alternative medicine than Atomidine - literally.
According to Cutler, Uranium is really not that signifigant, anotherwords, the others are the biggies, like lead, arsenic, mercury..... He really doesn't have much to say about it. I also have high uranium levels. I found out it was from my drinking water! Yep, I had my water tested. Since then, I got a reverse osmosis system to clear it and everything else.
I never really found out how to clear urnainium. Baking soda....it absorbs it. They put that in the ground to absorb it. I never found anything exact about how much to take. Do you have amalagm fillings? You should not chelate with amalagm in your mouth. It will stir up and redistribut the mercury. Very dangerous.
How far do you live from Tokyo? I am afraid to by chlorella since the Fukashima.
If you are clear of uranium, any of the chelators will get it out along with the other metals.
I was looking into the baking soda since I still had amalagm in my mouth and couldnt take it out yet.
