I'm sorry to hear that you cut yourself, especially while trying to get Christmas dinner on the table!
I use cayenne powder every time I cut myself and it works wonders but I've not had a deep cut (knock on some wood lol). I've yet to have a scar when I've used the powder but I always put a band-aid over the cut with the powder underneath it and left it overnight.
You say you've been keeping an aloe leaf on it. Do you mean the actual leaf or did you cut the leaf open and get the gel out and use the gel? I would think that the gel would be your best bet for no scarring but it has to be the gel and not the leaf. I've also used aloe gel for cuts and it's always left no scar but I would think that would depend on how badly you were cut. I've been very fortunate in that I've not had a bad one.
Of course you can't go wrong with the Deep Tissue Repair Oil, that stuff is da bomb, and the BF&C too!
It's good it didn't ruin your Christmas!
I know what you mean about tiny aloes leaves, I've got a plant that has very skinny leaves that I have to cut and scrape with a knife to get the gel but I guess securing the cut open leaf would have the same healing properties.
I found this article posted on Dr. Schulze forum and thought I'd post it here as testimony to the healing power of cayenne.
Various Cayenne Forms: Tincture, Bits, Powder addresses Nasty Head Gash in Boy
I just talked to Uny and she reminded me that Slippery Elm would be good for your cut. It will grow skin back so if you've got some you could mix it with aloe gel to make a thick paste, slather it on and let it dry and don't wash it off. Or you could make a paste with just water. Don't know why I didn't think of it myself lol! I've used it as a paste for mosquito bites that will swell up really big and get nasty if I didn't pack it with the Slippery Elm paste. When I use the paste on a bite, the next morning I can hardly tell where it was, it's that good!
If you don't have any Slippery Elm Uny said to make a paste of cayenne powder and aloe gel and let that dry and leave it on. She said that will work wonders too.
The Deep Tissue Repair Oil shouldn't really be used on an open wound. It's more for muscle soreness/tightness and things like bruises, I LOVE that stuff for when my shoulders get really tense.
Hope this helps.
