Hi, everyone. I am at Day 15, morning of, and still hoping to go 16 days. I've felt weak and all the symptoms I was fasting to resolve have been raging the whole time just as usual, but so far I have not experienced any fasting nausea, dizziness, or even that awful achy irritation in legs and limbs.
Thoughout the fast I have been belching, burping, and belch-hiccuping, often with farting and often wih a little acid bite thrown nto the erupting air when I belch. These are all symptoms I have when I am not fasting. I get these symptoms, when not fasting, even from drinking distilled water or diluted juices. I thought a water fast might calm them down, but they rage on, as I say, as usual.
I remember reading some Natural Hygiene text that urged that there were certain signs you should always break a fast, and burping, or chronic burping, was on that list! Also, just now, when I looked it up online, I came across a truly incomprehensibly-written website that seemed to be urging (in highly bizarre English-tinged pidgin of some sort) that if one experienced belching during a fast one should "go out of the fast".
However, obviously, I have been belching all this time and have not broken fast because of it. I can't say I have believed that at this point the belching/farting is a sign of detox or healing of the digestive system - I don't, since it seems to be an exact continuatio of what I experience when not in a detox/healing "mode" - but I also have not been alarmed and, though I have always remembered that Natural Hygiene text urging the necessity of breaking a fast if you experienced belching/hicuping during it, it didn't specify WHY hiccuping on a fast is such a danger sign, so I don't have any information on what makes it so alarming, if it is alarming.
So, my question for you today is - do you experience big attacks of burp-hiccuping on a fast? Even if you don't, do you have any theories as to why it might be thought a reason to terminate the fast? Do you figure that since I have made it this far, with usually daily attacks, I can finish up my remaining two days without being rash and cavalier about safety?
p.s. Sometimes these attacks are accompanied by heartburn and gas pains in my sides and chest, but not always; often they are accompanied by rumbling and gurgling in my stomach.
Thank you again, everybody! Have a good fast and/or a good week!
Some times I hesitate to post not to find myself talking about retracing...again. I feel embarrassed because of it. But it is very obvious that is your case, what you are experiencing.
Whenever I fast, I find myself revisiting my "maladies". And I know that is something that I have to endure in order to heal. In other words, we revisit the symptoms that bring us the most misery. This is good, it means we are healing. Only that it takes education to understand what and why is happening to us, and CHARACTER to endure it.
Your digestive system is healing now, so the symptoms are revisiting you, and rabidly. If you stop your fast now, you will not heal ...but if you persist and endure those-it looks you may be need a few more days- you will heal.
You also have to understand that you need to be careful during the refeeding time, and after. Some dietary changes are in order for you to prevent a fall back.
I've never eaten chicken menstruation or murdered ig in all my adolescent/adult life! What I did do (I stopped after 15 days but am starting another fast so that I can go longer) is eventually after about a week start eating a lot of non-gluten grains (cooked but not soaked - some of it was germinated but not all) and that got me into big trouble. I definitely feel that the 15 days of fasting were totally useless now - they did nothing at all by themselves. This next time I am going to eat after my fast only anti-mycotoxic vegetables, possibly some broths, but no starches and no grains. I am not yet sure whether I shall keep all raw, but I definitely will keep to alkaline and anti-mycotoxic foods except possibly some hemp at some point, which would not be alkaline.
I broke last Tuesday and it is as though I never did those 15 days of fasting at all!
