First, let me say that I read long and hard to verify that it was safe to put liquid coconut oil in your eyes. I finally found a doctor from Barbados who said that people in the caribbean use it all the time to soothe irritated, dry eyes.
I have pinworms that have gotten into my sinuses and into my eyes. I took a round of Humaworm, but as soon as I stopped, they came back with a vengeance. I found an ayurvedic eyewash recipe with garlic, but it caused pain in my eyes after only two days, so I stopped using this.
Someone suggested coconut oil. I thought they were crazy! Why would I put coconut oil in my eyes? Then someone asked "Why would you put animal fat into your eyes? I never have, I replied. Yes, you have, every time you put eyedrops with glycerin into your eyes. Glycerin is a byproduct of processing animal fat for soap.
Made sense to me, and the more I read, the more sense it made. VCO is natural, it's antibiotic and antifungal, it kills worms, and if it is safe to put in your eyes, it may just be the cure.
So I did it. I started putting two drop of coconut oil into my eyes at night, and today, I woke up with "sleep" in the corners of both eyes...only it wasn't mucus. It was worm larvae. Yes, tiny little hard, clear grains of what looks like sand...pinworm larvae...coming out of my eyes! I have had these same things coming out of my skin when I was taking the Humaworm, and I started collecting them and sent them to a lab, which confirmed they were indeed parasitic worm larvae, although they did not know what kind.
I only use the VCO at night, and only a couple of drops. I write for a living, so using it during the day is out, as it does coat your eyes and make it hard to see.
I've also ordered Dr. Christopher's Eyebright formula and will do eyewashes during the day with that, but I intend to continue to use the VCO at night.
Hi and thanks for your post on my "eye" post on the other forum.
My question is how can you put 2 DROPS of C oil into your eyes when all the coconut products out there are a jar of cream type coconut product - is there a LIQUID organic coconut oil that would enable you to put 2 DROPS into your eyes.
Basically, all I see is a jar of cream everwhere - no oil per se so, what is the company that you use ?
To melt the coconut oil, run some hot water from the tap, and put it into a wide, shallow container (I use a small bowl). Put the coconut oil into a smaller container, and put it into the warm water to melt it. Make sure the coconut oil has cooled completely, but is still liquid, before using it. DO NOT HEAT COCONUT OIL IN THE MICROWAVE! Microwaves change the structure of what you heat in them, and they kill the lauric acid that makes the VCO work.
I think organic virgin coconut oil is a great way to kill eye parasites please be sure that the coconut oil is made from fresh coconuts,
NOT from dried coconuts, dried coconuts has mycotoxins which is very toxic, so you do not want mycotoxins in your eyes. I bought a bottle of Organic extra virgin coconut oil the phone number was on the bottle, then I called the company and asked if it was made from fresh coconut oil and they said, YES! Harvestbay is the one I bought, but whichever one you buy please be sure to check this out before using it in your eyes.
Hi: I tried my drops of organic coconut oil in my eyes last night, as you have done, for the first time - this morning I woke up and my right problem eye looked as if it was now "off-center and to the right" - god that scared me - that eye is already larger than the left (checking thyroid) so I washed and did a Schultz "eyebright" tincture eye wash which I have done many time before - it is great, full of cayenne and other herbs and I think it is good.
Well, I will do my nightly coconut drops for about a week and see if anything results.
What happened with those others who tried the coconut oil in the eyes? Did others experience only positive results also? I have a whole host of odd symptoms since trying the Primal diet last July (huge mistake), and the visual ones are the most annoying and the ones that haven't improved at all. I'm terribly afraid of putting coconut oil in my eyes!
Hi i lathered gobs of coconut oil all over myself last night and in my hair nose and eyes and bottom and genitals too. I wore a one pc zip footed pajamas to bed.
I awoke 2:30am or earlier and had to urinate every 15 minutes or so or 7 times through the night. I looked in my eye- it had gotten a blood clot and scared me so i was up reading more detail about coconut oils active ingredient which is a bit dangerous. Some coconut oil association really needs to state recommended external dosing for safety!
My eye has gotten better as it hurt i think i burned it
Maybe ill try only putting in drops. I was worried i had an occular larva migrans for which there is no cure- maybe im right
In the nose it somehow dried up my mucous and let me breathe freely but then ive needed to reapply because the nose has been drying out.
I have some type of parasite on my arm, other place and in my eye, doctor said fungus but it's not. Creams didn't work, anti parasite all natural didn't work. Had mri's cat scans blood test even a colonoscopy. Nada. Doc looked at me like I wasted time and resourses, said I was a hypercondreact, not sure if I spelled that right. Anyways, I ordered praziquantel off ebay, cheapest place I could find. Well I had a Tapeworm that is nearly gone. Then I went to tractor supply aND picked up apple flavored dewormer for horse. Sores on arms disappeared. Eyes got better. I weigh aprox 170 and I ingested 250 lbs worth, it's a dial on the wormer. Well after a couple weeks they came back. I would recommend to check and read thoroughly on dosages for humans and do regular treatment till you get rid of the problem.
I just started using coconut oil for a 6 month eye infection and found your post. YES, you are right on. I have the same problem, SAND like staff coming out of my eyes, and my eyes are constantly itching. The eye doctor prescribed Cipro drops, Cipro oral, sulfa meds, you name it. I tried Castor oil and it helped, but it is hard to reaply at work. The coconut oil is my total hope. How long does it take to eliminate the larvae/worm from the eyes?
I've never had an eye parasite, but I have had pink eye so that is an infection. Have you considered trying raw honey? It burns a tad but it I used it and the next morning my pink eye was gone. Ancient Egyptians used honey for all types of infections and ailments. The honey will NOT harm you because it is natural. I simply used an eye dropper to administer it. Google if you will for proof but I honestly would not post this if I had not experienced this. About 2-3 drops will suffice maybe 3 or 4 hours in a row the night before. You have to mix the honey with distilled or (bottled) water, let it cool and apply to each eye. 2 teaspoons honey and 4 teaspoons water. Your eyes will tingle and tear up (crying not ripping) but it will help you. Honey is also known to lighten eye color gradually overtime. It is best to use the raw or pure honey with no added Sugar if at all possible. I hope this will help you. There is no need for you to suffer and again this is not something you have to ORDER and pay excessive amounts of money for. You probably already have honey and bottled water. I simply microwaved the water about one minute, mixed in a bowl, let it cool and then applied. Pink eye is not attractive so I was desperate to get rid of it!! Really hope you get better soon. Bless!
Thanks! My mom has Sjorgrens syndrome and very dry eyes. She can't make tears. The prescribed drops aren't helping. I had her try coconut oil and it helps. Should the oil be refrigerated? It's not a huge jar but probably not good to have the whole thing out on her drawing table?
