There are other posts on CureZone, claiming similar results from using Turmeric - usually as a side effect.
I have been suffering from Candida for a long time, with most debilitating symptoms associated with Candida Overgrowth.
I have not been eating bread for a long time, very little pasta or other wheat products. But that did not seem to make a big difference. The only difference I did notice, was when I did eat Sugar and/or Bread, the Candida flared up to intolerable levels.
The first thing I did to seriously starve the Candida, was to cut out all refined sugar. I still ate fruit. So, since Sugar in my coffee was the biggest source of daily sugar - I opted for bitter coffee. That did make a difference, but only slight.
Then I started taking Turmeric. I started with 1/4 teaspoon twice a day. Currently I am taking about 1/2 teaspoon twice a day.
For the first couple of days, I felt GREAT. Then came the Herxheimmer Effect. I felt terrible. Whole body ache, my skin hurt and I had a fever. My urine became a dark amber colour.
I drank a lot of water, and slightly lowered the dose of Turmeric.
Tree days later I felt SO GOOD. And I still feel good. And my tongue is pink. I still take the Turmeric. I also have a regular intake of Ginger and Cayenne Pepper. My urine colour is back to normal.
I am still keeping away from sugar and wheat. But after the occasional succumbing to the lure of chocolate or a pizza, I do not get that terrible flare up.
Maybe this sounds too easy - Turmeric, the stuff that makes rice yellow? But, unless you have serious gallbladder and/or liver problems, I really would recommend taking Turmeric. Do some reading on the Net. I have read only good things, and have only good things to report.
I swear the one time I was feeling better 1.5-2 years ago was something with my diet. I'd tried so many things.. and couldn't ever remember. Recently realizing that I had been putting lots of Turmeric with my food. Just adding it, I never thought anything much more of it..

I have more energy than ever before. I have to add things to my routine, and do not need a nap after work any more.
My tongue is 'pretty in pink'. No more white coating.
And the dreaded itch is gone. Nothing. Not even when a have some Sugar (which I do avoid most of the time - maybe once a month I will have some candy, if that often) there is no flare up.
I am severely impressed with Turmeric, and wish I new about its healing properties ten years ago.
My brain fog is mostly removed, but I have always been a bit of a dreamer :-)
And another amazing thing happened: the liver spots on my face is getting lighter. Nothing I have tried so far, has managed to lighten the liver spots. Only Turmeric.
And overall, I feel good.
I must mention that I did get a horrible die-off reaction shortly after starting the Turmeric. But once that cleared, all above mentioned positives started to manifest. I also use Hemp seed oil as a source of Omega 3 and GLA. And I add Cayenne Pepper to the mix, to increase the bio-availability of Curcumin. And I ingest a lot of Ginger with fresh fruit juice.
So, I am very happy with the results, and very thankful that my father told me about Turmeric.

I tried turmeric several years ago, when I was at my absolute rock bottom. I couldn't handle the reaction turmeric gave me, so I stopped taking it. I was fighting so many problems then that I didn't make the association with candida. It's time to try turmeric again.
I started using turmeric last Friday and boy what a difference in my tongue in just 7 days. I have been using one teaspoon of turmeric in lukewarm water three times a day. Each morning I wake up and look forward to seeing my tongue in the mirror. Each day the white coating on the tongue is less and less. I saw it is about 50% gone. What is left is much thinner. I am also using Manuka Honey. Thanks for the suggestion of using the turmeric. So far the die off has been minimal but I have noticed more itching and aching.
I am glad you are having positive results - personally, I am totally thrilled with turmeric!
I have been using turmeric constantly at 1 tsp per day for about 2 - 3 months, and can occasionally eat something sweet now without getting a flare-up. This does not change the fact that sweets are bad, but I am only human, and sometimes i succumb :-(
YES! tumeric is a king of spices use it 1 tsp in ur food, Ive been posting here for weeks to eat indian style food and eat regular with herbs and spices, cinnamon works, cardamon works curcumin works, they all help digestion & kill germs

go easy on it it gives die off. But they are so much better than nilstat and diflucan, they kill more than candida and help the liver not harm it.
ANTI-FUNGAL FIBER SNACK
Coconut oil kills bacteria as easily as fungi. I only use it externally.
Popcorn has 21g of Carbohydrates.
And only 3.6g of fiber.
o turmeric powder (1 tsp)
o fresh ground Sea Salt
I would personally try all-bran and celery.
(Note: All-bran is still only 50% or so fiber and as such is still not perfect, and no carbs is better, but if you HAVE TO HAVE CARBS, try all-bran).
Disclaimer: I don't eat all-bran anymore, my candida is better than that and I don't want to risk it getting worse, I get my carbs from yoghurt instead. (Low Sugar yoghurt).
Oh and for those of you eating fiber, make sure you eat it regularly as stopping leaves those carbs in there with more time for things to grow and erode the walls of your stomach.
If you want to eat popcorn on candida, do yourself a favor, skip the popcorn, just eat the hulls.
The trick is that the coconut oil kills EVERYTHING so the popcorn doesn't bother you... until eventually that oil is broken down and then 'something' gets it... question: what? If it's the candida, you'll feel fine immediately but feel worse later. If it's the bacteria... that would be good, but is candida ever so abliging?
I just started turmeric and it seems to be helping a lot. From my understanding since I have had candida for a long time 8 years since I was 14 the candida formed a bio layer to protect itself. This protective little area of candida can survive most other treatments and as soon as there is Sugar present it spreads out like nobodies business. I have been trying to get rid of candida for the past 4 years with an extensive diet but I could never fully get better. Turmeric is one of the only natural cures to help destroy the candida bio film and it also coats your gut invite yellow compound which actually helps prevent the flare up of the candida. I am not a doctor but if you are suffering from Candida and can't seem to get better I would recommend eating eggs with turmeric every morning (the eggs keep all the turmeric inside and help carry it to your gut) as well as taking vitamin c such as a grapefruit (vitamin c has been found in early studies to make the turmeric 5 times more effective). Hopefully this is my final treatment attempt.
