Actually, my T3 was low normal about six months ago, but those symptoms seemed to have subsided...However, I just had a blood test done last week and will get results next week and my thyroid was included in those tests. Basal body temps were down before, haven't checked them recently, but I will. I guess that would cause my temps to be off. All this hormonal stuff is quite confusing...I was so healthy before the dreaded Mirena...
Lab tests for thyroid frequently miss hypothyroidism. You are much better off checking your basal body temperature to determine if your thyroid is low or not.
Okay, this is ridiculous. I know I have very low progesterone, likely other imbalances because of that, because I'm an ex-Mirena woman. I've been taking Vitex for 7 weeks now, plus I'm taking herbs for my adrenals. But this excessive sweating is driving me mad! I'm also starting to lose my hair again...
Hair loss in women is most often a result of hypothyroidism. Estrogen dominance leads to thyroid suppression, which is why women are more prone to the problem. Adrenal issues can further lead to thyroid suppression.
That happened in the winter until I saw an ND and he addressed my adrenal problem. It seemed to settle down, but now it's coming back again. I don't feel the same as when my adrenals were at their worst. In fact, I'm doing lots of things around the house that I coudln't do before, painting, etc... But this sweating is ridiculous. It's only 22C here...
Anybody have a clue why or, better yet, a cure? Please and thank you!
One of the best herbs for hot flashes is motherwort. Sage leaf is great for sweating in general and also help with hormones.
Thanks, all, for those responses. I'll definitely do the things you suggested to see if I can help alleviate this. I'll also go and look at what herbs are used to support my thyroid while I wait to get my hormones in balance. Do you think that's wise, HV? I already am supporting my adrenals with herbs.
Some of the herbs that support the adrenals can also support the thyroid such as nettle leaf and ashwagandha.
