Hi! I'm just wondering if there is a way to cleanse and detoxify the liver without doing an actual flush. My local health food store sells a kit that is supposed to work along with a proper diet to throughly cleanse the liver. I'm a little wary of the flushing, and also, I don't really have any opportunity during the week to do one (there isn't a day that I can take off from work or school). So doing a detox program like this would be preferable to me. Can I get the same effects by doing this? Also, I've seen a lot of information that suggests one should do a parsite and kidney cleanse before doing the liver. Is this absolutely necessary? Also, what is the best diet to keep the liver from becoming congested? I try to eat organic as much as possible, and I'm going to purchase a juicer today. I have been binging on Sugar and carbohydrates lately, which I know must be terrible but I have absolutely been unable to control myself (probably a sign that the liver needs help, right?). I can't wait to get my health and diet back in control! I just hope that this is the right path to take. Any support in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for everything!! :)
Cleansing is usually a slower, more gentle way to go. Flushing produces rapid results. There are times when both are needed, other times just one procedure can produce the desired results in the way most suited to an individual. If you do not have acute symptoms of liver/gallbladder trouble, then a cleanse would be a good gentle way to go. I would suggest that you spend some time researching the ingredients in the commercial cleanse you are considering. There are a lot of worthless products out there, take that from someone who has been ripped off more than once with health promises that were never fulfilled.
My Naturopath gave me an article that said to drink the juice of a fresh lemon every morning for at least a week to clear the gallbladder of stones without flushing. I have not tried that yet, but am considering it. I have done many flushes, and still am producing stones, probably because of pain medicines I take for a back injury, plus the stress of trying to work and function while in almost constant pain. I'm tired of flushing now, it seems like my body does not want to do it anymore. Next time symptoms of more stones arise, I'm going to try the fresh lemon juice before I flush again.
I enjoyed looking at your website. I've been thinking of starting one myself. There is no one forum where I can freely post my cleansing routine without getting off subject and risking getting deleted. That has happened so often, that now I mostly try to just answer questions.
Glad you enjoyed the web site! I've enjoyed putting it together... Pretty easy to do through Yahoo. You seem to have good advice and experience, so I (for one) would be interested if you put up a site.
I find it strange that your messages would get deleted just b/c you were posting a cleansing routine! I thought the only messages that got deleted were ones that were rude or not helpful!
For info on a liver healthy diet try this site www.liverdoctor.com She's an Australian doctor that specializes in liver health. I take one of her supplements called Livatone Plus for my congested liver symptoms ( from candida ). I don't tolerate the Liver Flushes right now due to irritaion in my intestines- that bile flowing out burns me alive, YIKES! I've managed to do about 6 in the past year though.
