You are not alone!
I've had my Mirena coil in for almost 6 years (on the advice of a nurse!). Over those years I have been continually suffering from bouts of excruciating pains in my knees, hips and ankles, some bouts have seen me hospitalised, I've been placed on strong 'evil' steroids several times, undergone numerous tests only to find nothing wrong with my autoimmune system, except high infection markers which miraculously right themselves weeks later 😕
I have had other worrying health issues over the last few years which cannot be pinpointed by specialists.
I temporarily lost my sight and suffered dizzy - almost vertigo type symptoms which, once again disappeared following a high dose of steroids. An MRI scan revealed nothing.
More recently I've been suffering unbearable bouts of day/night sweats at regular 30-40 minute intervals, severe Pains in my upper back which wake me from my sleep, as well as achy thigh bones that cause enough pain to keep me awake and dosed up on painkillers!
CT scans are next step for me and the well overdue removal of the coil.
It hasn't been confirmed, and probably never will be, but I now attribute all of my sufferings to the Mirena coil. I was fit and healthy until I had this coil fitted.
It was only recently after suffering more regular bouts of day and night sweats that I started reading blogs on the subject.
I was flabbergasted to say the least when I read that Most symptoms are identical to what I've experienced over the last few years 😳
And reading your post has 100% convinced me the Mirena coil has been the cause of the attacks on my joints to a point where I am unable weight bear until endless pain killers kick in!
Have you had any other symptoms ?
