I'll give this a go. It doesn't say how much olive oil however. If this is similar to another drink I'm familiar with than it should be 1 Tablespoon olive oil. can also add some fresh ginger to the blender
I have done this before and it is ok, not delicious but not bad. I find this article does not go into the recipe. The one I used was 1 whole lemon, 1 T. of evoo, and 1 cup of purified water. The other recipe I heard of was double this.
PS: of course common sense here is that the lemon must be washed very good prior to using, daaa
Talk about synchronicity! I just found this yesterday searching the web, a totally different article about the exact same thing, and I started to do it this morning.
I liked it. As telluride says, I found it to be one lemon with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, and a cup of water.
It was quite good. Sometimes when you try certain health concoctions they can be pretty nasty, but this was really very drinkable.
Also, you strain the drink after blending it.
Of course, if you can, it's best to use organic lemons and olive oil. I will report back after a couple of weeks if I am feeling better. I most definitely have a sluggish gallbladder/liver. This should help all around. d
I've been doing this for years not only with lemon but grapefruit and oranges! I actually enjoy the taste! It moves bile and helps with digestion ! Good for helping weight gain or weight loss as it improves digestion and helps absorb nutrients!
Starting today I will begin the 7 day Liver Flush and will report to you how it went. Everyone needs to regularly flush your liver and this is easy so yes am a bit lazy these days so thought I would give this a try. It is delicious have to say. Here is what I am taking.
I put in the whole peeled fruits of
2 chopped garlic cloves
1 cup of water
1/4-1/2 cup of olive oil (start out slow)
First chop the garlic very fine and put in blender along with the fruits and blend on high speed until frothy. Then add the water and oil and blend for a few minutes until very foamy and drink all at once. This can be done first thing in the morning or before you sleep as long as you did not eat two hours prior.
Really? I had a hard time swallowing it this morning. It was my first time trying it. I did a whole lemon, olive oil and water in a blender. Strained and drank. Yikes! Kinda gave me that nauseous feeling I got when I threw up the olive oil once. Im out of coconut oil , AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!. Its five minutes away, just need to go out and grab some. Maybe I should try it with the coconut oil??
I had it this morning also and yes it is terrible. But drink it slow, do not swallow the whole thing at once. The trick is first thing in the morning and take fifteen minutes to drink it. You can drink it at night before sleep if you have not had any food for two hours.
I used to drink this back in the late 1990s, only I used orange juice instead of water. The orange juice makes it taste really good. If the lemon was a gigantic lemon, like you sometimes get at the grocery store, I would use 1/2 lemon. If the lemon was on the small side, I used a whole lemon. I think it did a lot for my health. I'd wait half an hour to an hour and then drink carrot juice (which also heals a certain portion of the liver).
Most of the citrus compounds are considered water soluable and therefor do not have as much liver cleansing abilities as fat soluable cleansers.
By combining these substances in a blender and then emulsifying the oils into the water, you may convert these water soluable properties into fat soluable properties.
Flavenoids can attach to just about anything.
The peel of the lemon and lime, also grapefruit contain very potent phytonutrients and flavenoids. The flavenoid are reported to have much longer half life than other antioxidants such as green tea. They actually make peel extracts just for cancer patients.
Don't be afraid the froth up the peels.
Also, you can use coconut oil instead of olive oil and this provides a much better taste. In fact, coconut oil all by itself is considered a multi use treatment for various diseases such as viral, autoimmune, and cancer.
Lastly, if you purchase combed honey, use this as a sweetener. Do not use process, filtered, heated, honey. Use organic with combs, The darker the better. This honey contains polyphenols, tannins, and more. Blend it with the other ingredients.
The cleanse is not toxic nor is it fasting. You can make this recipe a daily lifestyle choice but only if you can tolerate the taste.
Also, don't be afraid to add ice water to your drink and dilute it down a bit, you will have a bigger drink but it wont taste as strong. Besides, additional water is in itself cleansing and when cleansing is in fact your goal, water should be a term that never gets omitted, always gets emphasized as part of the protocol.
Other ways to give your liver a break:
Chlorophyll binds to heavy metals like lead and mercury. Also binds to pesticides and petrolium distillates. It has been proven to prevent the induction of cancer in lab. animals who were given carcinogens but did not develope cancer.
Activated charcoal taken orally will absorb many of the toxins your liver must breakdown. Do not consume activated charcoal with alternative substances and treatments as it may absorb the good stuff along with the bad stuff.
If taking activated charcoal don't forget to increase your intake of water.
I read all of the links in this post, and I just made and drank the lemon drink. I strained it and added a dash of the herb stevia for a sweetner and about a half of a teaspoon of ginger to the lemon and 2 tablespoons of oil... it doesn't taste bad at all! I like it and will be drinking it.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention - I've never heard of it. I usually drink the juice of a lemon in a cup of hot water in the morning and I've been saving and using about 6 lemon seeds added to my freshly ground flaxseeed (2 Tablespooons). and 1 Tablespoon of chia seed along with 3 or 4 whole cloves.... I add the mix to a cup and a half of reverse osmosiss water and chug it down before it thickens.
Heven't tried the full blended whole lemons yet as I've only got waxed lemons at the moment which will probably do more harm than good, but found the following quite easy to get down:
1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
juice 1 lemon
1 desert spoon whole apple organic cider vinegar
1/3 pint water
(give it a good stir)
The vinegar (as well as being a suberb cleanser itself)seems to help cut through the oil so it comes through in smaller globules and reduces the gag reflex. Do make sure it's the whole apple organic cider vinegar rather than ordinary vinegar to get the benefits though...
Which ever recipe version used I'm sure it would also help to have the same ingredients ingested with a daily salad as well to reinforce the benefits and help acquire the taste.
