I have been looking for something to stimulate bile flow to carry toxins out of my liver but everything I looked at i.e Milk Thistle, Artichoke, Dandelion had an effect on blood Sugar (all can lower blood sugar) - I have hypoglycemia. I read that radishes can stimulate bile flow (especially the black radish) so I have been eating about 6 large radishes every day. Sorry to be graphic but in my bowel movements I see really big "black" pieces coming away which I presume is old bile released from my liver. Every day there is more and more coming away....I think this is positive as old bile is cleared from my liver? Anyway I only paid 50 pence for a bag of radish from my local shop - glad something that costs so little appears to be working!
Hi Miscallie. I think from what I understand if the liver is sluggish and toxic bile production slows down so the toxins stay within the liver so by stimulating bile you are just helping the liver release toxins (?). No I dont think its mucoid plaque -it doesnt look rubbery enough but I might be mistaken. I am just hoping that finally my liver is clearing something.
I take spanish black radish by standard process, 1 with every meal/ it was given to me by a nutritionist a long time ago and I just started taking them again. I think it was given to me when I did my heavy metal detox?
I just eat them raw. The taste doesnt bother me. They do say black radish are best for improving bile flow although I am doing ok with the red ones (black radish is available in liver supplements but better from food if you can get them).
