I'm just wondering what the best source is for Magnesium oil.
This stuff is expensive, wow. How long does 8oz last? Is this something you recommend taking life-long?
The two most popular ones seem to Ancient Minerals and Pacific Magnesium.
I've actually bought LL's Magnetic clay before and never noticed this. *bought it over a year ago.
Yes, Magnesium Oil is expensive.. BUT it is VERY VERY concentrated and you
don't need much. If you buy like 64 oz it will last you a VERY long time.
My first buy of Magnesium Oil was from Global Light on the internet. Recently
I ran out and decided to go with another brand, after doing more
research. It seems that the best Magnesium Oil comes from the Ancient Zechstein Seabed in Europe, 1600 to 2000 meters deep in the interior of the Earth.
So, I went ahead and bought some of this stuff from this website: https://015d8eb.netsolstores.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=975&HS=1
If you do buy it, please be prepared (at least in my opinion) to spray yourself
SEVERAL times during the day (under armpits- it dries quickly and reduces B.O.)
and also spray your entire body after a shower. When I first got my Mag oil
I only used a small amount massaged into my body 1x a day.Later, after reading some testimonials, I saw that you could/should do it many times a day, especially if one is magnesium depleted. Bathing, also, is very good.
I don't think you would need to do this for a lifetime per say, because you'd want to get your magnesium levels up to a normal level. But having said that with all the stress in our busy lives it probably wouldn't hurt to use it regularly (whatever that means to you). I have found that it is still beneficial to supplement internally with Magnesium as well.. then you don't need so much Mag Oil.
I think Ionic angstrom size Magnesium is the best..supposed to be completely absorbable.. I am able to buy this one (see link below) from my local health food store http://www.biofrequencyconsulting.com/magnesium.html
By the way, just a little testimonial, but I have been gargling with Mag Oil for
about a week and the enamel on my teeth are noticably harder and whiter. I
had a bit of problems with my gums due to my immune system and they are also
much less painful. Pretty Awesome stuff..
It appears that Magnesium Direct is the only officially licensed product for the Zechstein Magnesium oil in the US. I have not been able to find any one else, other than Magnesium Direct's DermaMag, whose product has the official "Zechstein Inside" logo on the bottle. Evidently, the Zechstein Inside logo was created by the mine in Europe to help customers know when they are buying the authentic product. As far as I can tell, it only comes from one mine.
I use the DermaMag and it works great. Because it is officially licensed, you know you aren't getting a counterfeit or cheaper substitute.
You can go to there website by clicking magnesium oil
Actually, it would seem that "DermaMag" is the questionable product here. Authentic magnesium oil from the zechstein seabed seems to be only available through Ancient Minerals. You can find it distributed just about everywhere, and Ancient Minerals is also the same one recommended by the IMVA and Dr. Mark Sircus who authored the book Transdermal Magnesium Therapy.
I just contacted the only mine that produces the Zechstein magnesium oil, and they did verify that only Magnesium Direct and their DermaMag is licensed in the US to carry the "Zechstein Inside" seal of authenticity. They are the only one that has it on the bottle. Look on the label of any other product to see if they have it. If not, they are not authentic. That's what they told me.
I subscribe to Dr. Urbans newsletter, and I saw his recommendation on the Ancient Minerals magnesium oil, and from what I have read all over the net... it seems to be everything it is cracked up to be. A friend of mine who spoke to Dr. Sircus passed along the knowledge to me that the ancient minerals magnesium oil was so pure, he recommended its use diluted in eye rinses! The basic instructions went something like this... 10 parts distilled water to 1 part magnesium oil, in a small glass bottle... shake it up, and set the bottle in warm water in the sink to bring it up to temperature... then pour out a desired amount in an eye cup, and do some eye rotations under it for about 30 seconds per eye 2x each. He said it works brilliantly for relieving spastic or tense muscles in and around the eyes, and also will clear up any eye infections, among other things...
I just had a chat with Mark Sircus, the writer of Transdermal Magnesium, and he told me about cheaper alternatives to "perfecly pure" magnesium oil. I wont bother you any longer, here is a transcript:
zenfood says: Hello, I have a Question about magnesium chloride.
Mark Sircus says: sure
zenfood says: Two questions (these may be foolish, if so, sorry!) : Why is the chloride in magnesium chloride actually good for the body, and the chlorine in water bad? Second question: would a Nigari solution give good results if one cannot find "true" magnesium oil? Thanks
Mark Sircus says: yes Nigari can be very nice
Mark Sircus OMD says: i dont have all the scince and my writings in front of me but
Mark Sircus OMD says: chloride is a natural chemical the body uses
Mark Sircus OMD says: chlorine is a differnt form
Mark Sircus OMD says: one that the body does not use
Mark Sircus OMD says: so its a poison
~
Mark Sircus OMD says: you need to get the Ancient Minerals bath flakes
Mark Sircus OMD says: very pure and cheap
Mark Sircus OMD says: they are available in ca
Mark Sircus OMD says: you can make your own oil with it
Mark Sircus OMD says: they dont sell it that way
Mark Sircus OMD says: in the US 6.5 pounds is 55 bucks
Mark Sircus OMD says: you can make two gallons with it
zenfood says: I just put the bath flakes into water until it saturates, yes?
Mark Sircus OMD says: exactly
Mark Sircus OMD says: pure water
zenfood says: RO good enough?
Mark Sircus OMD says: sure
Mark Sircus OMD says: you should get my book Sodium Bicarbonate
Mark Sircus OMD says: it has best chapters on using the flakes and oil
~
Mark Sircus OMD says: get some of their Iodine while you are at it
zenfood says: i wish i had something i could take baths out of... i know you can with the bath flakes, but at ~1pound per bath, thats over $10 a bath
Mark Sircus OMD says: yes that gets expensive
Mark Sircus OMD says: best is magnesium massage
Mark Sircus OMD says: person does not even have to be that skilled
Mark Sircus OMD says: not skilled at all actually
Mark Sircus OMD says: or do yourself
Mark Sircus OMD says: just spread it all over your body like suntan screen
Mark Sircus OMD says: go out in the sun even
Mark Sircus OMD says: and then combine that with oral use
zenfood says: i can find dead Sea Salt with 33% magnesium chloride cheap enough to make bath out of: good enough?
Mark Sircus OMD says: and you will pump in the magnesium
Mark Sircus OMD says: yes
Mark Sircus OMD says: and buy ten pounds of sodium bicarbonate while your at it
Mark Sircus OMD says: put that in the bath and in your drinking water as well
zenfood says: they say there is 25% potassium chloride, any dangerous?
Mark Sircus OMD says: no
Can you clarify some of this conversation with Marc Sircus? I need to buy the Ancient Minerals bath flakes, add to water til it doesn't dissipate? And the nigeri is for what? Also, dead Sea Salt ? What salt do you buy, is it non-toxic and are you bathing just in that, or adding the other stuff to it? Or are you using the dead sea salt as a cheaper replacement for the Ancient Mineral bath flakes? I also want to do daily bathing but can't afford the ten dollars a bath in the good stuff, so I would appreciate it if you can clarify this.
Vernal, everything you have mentioned is magnesium chloride... we are simply discussing the relative purity of each source. There are many different grades of Nigari, just as well as there are different grades of dead sea salt. I think it also makes a difference how you plan on using the product? If you are bathing in it, then the purity of dead sea salts or nigari may not be as much of an issue. Although, the folks at Ancient Minerals do produce a 32 pound size for about 150 bucks, which isn't that bad in my opinion. Dead Sea salts and some good nigari will run you perhaps 25% less. Another trick you can do with any of the above is to leave your tub full for a couple days and just warm it up with some boiling water off the stove. If you are talking about using the product orally and in eye washes as I have actually heard some professionals recommending, then the Ancient Minerals magnesium oil is what I would stick to. Good luck
Tony, that isn't exactly cheap. If you are going to buy flakes and make it yourself, then why not just use Ancient Minerals flakes? It's half the price as the stuff you are recommending there, and twice as pure.
They seem to have very high quality products and I've ordered from them 7 times and never had a problem. Can anyone else vouch for their products ?
Anyway, my Question is, can I just make a concentrated solution of water and this Dead Sea Salt to make Mag oil??
They have Dead Sea Salt for a very good price. along with the red himalayan salt. I use these salts as my only salts I add to food. and I use plenty of them.
Its hard to accept that I'm still so mineral deficient when I eat so healthy. I've suffered with candida for a long time and didn't know it till last year. I went on a cultured vegetable, ACV, and urine fast for 9 days - and I was healed, I know it. BUT, unfortunately, I'm 25, and as much as I'm controlled now with my drinking, it only took that one night out with the boys to reverse all that hard work!!!!
I have very cold hands and feet, and my hands are once again flared up as very dry and cracked and bleeding. I always thought it was seasonal, but I guess its eczema or psoriasis, which I think are caused by the candida. So I'll need to do another fast soon. hopefully thats my problem with that. anyway.. sorry to add that extra stuff.
It is clear like the Ancient Minerals and it is a concentrate also. I can't see the difference between Pacific Magnesium Minerals and Ancient other than Price.
Ancient Minerals Per Gallon is $258.00
Pacific Magnesium Per Gallon is $96.95
WOW... BIG Difference in Price $161.05
I can buy 2 and a half Gallons for the same price as the Ancient Minerals and still get a "Ultra Pure" Magnesium Oil Product!
It is a LOT cheaper Price and It has more magnesium per ounce and it WORKS real good for me.
And unless someone convinces me otherwise I plan on taking a bath with 2oz to start. This is a lot cheaper that 10 dollars a pound. Most of the time what I have found is that big website equals a more expensive product. I realize however that the "natural" mined stuff is probably the best. But if I find out that this sold for fish stuff is from the earth too well then I think it will be decided rather quickly which route to take to boost the Mag levels in the body!
