I am not sure how I managed a 10 day Water Fast
some 2 years ago, BUT I CAN say, I will not make it this time...LOL I am starting the juice fast...I totally needed those extra calories given from the juice. So, here I am dusting off my juicer I brought 3 years ago. I already went to the store to buy the things I needed, so I am ready to start on day 7 the juice fast til Aug. 3rd:-)
It is the last day of school where I work and they are having a pizza party for the kids. So, for those of you who are having the problems of "concerned" family members or friends, let me share with you what has worked for me....I will give you an example of how the party day will play out (but this is my normal routine)...
At the school party I will be offered pizza and other junk I am sure will be there and what I would say is I already had a huge breakfast (which will be my water and juice and I will be full). Then they will say, well you knew we were having a party and you ate? Then I will say, "you know the sausage and egg biscuits with cheese from Mickie D's? they are my favorite and after eating two of them with a hashbrown, I get full". Then they will say oh oh ok. (Do you see how the assumption is there, to which they THINK I ate at McDonalds but I was actually telling them a true story but it didn't happen today. (Got it?) My husband says its still lying...LOL But I don't think so, I can't help what people assume.... Then guess what, the cycle has begun....
Usually on Fridays me and hubby will go and do something. This usually involves food. So, while he is making his order, I will order a large water to sip on while he's eating. He will say, "you don't want anything to eat?" Then I will say at school they had a party and they had pizza, with chips and cupcakes and etc. So, (just like my husband), he will ASSUME that I have already eaten and full from the party.
So, this is usually how I do it and it works pretty well. No one knows I am doing a fast, no family members or friends, only here where I post. To me this isn't lying just leading their "imagination" away from the food at hand...LOL
Sorry to be long again and to mention food, but wanted to share what worked with me when dealing with co-workers, friends and family members in dealing with the pressure to eat:-) Have a good day and be prepared for the weekend!
