there is no real need to replenish your intestinal flora post-fast, as the body is very selective and discerning about its use of reserves and the preservation of essential elements such as good bacteria.
I had no personal need to do so after my own two prolonged fasts of 25 days and then 30 days, and my own digestion was improved enormously thereafter. This has also been the experience of thousands of fasters for the last 150 years.
The need for the replenishment of good bacteria comes only after taking antibiotics, which no Alternative advocate of health would consider taking anyway.
Whatever the body loses during fasting is replaced either from the appendix and/or from the raw foods we eat. It's one reason why we should eat our foods at room temperature not cold straight from the fridge. If you haven't got an appendix you may need a bit of help but I doubt it, I've not heard that replacing friendly bacteria or enzymes is a problem even if you're missing that organ. Bacteria is the most common thing on the planet don't sweat about it being where it's supposed to be.
I am on day 10 of my pure water fast. Today I had the most amazing colonics and my Dr. is an MD from Bulgaria and here she practices holistic/alternative/Chinese medicine. My tongue is still completely covered with a thick white coating even after 10 days and today a lot came out again considering I've only had water for 10 days. I have had my appendix removed when I was nine (32 now). I know I have a serious case of candida and I have chronic inflammation and food allergies, my body kinda forced me into this fast I had not planned it and was not prepared by any means so I am taking it one day at a time and so far so good.
She highly recommends that I immediately start on probiotics even if I am to continue on the fast, I wanted you opinions please. She also said I need to replenish my electrolytes, I was thinking maybe drinking the water from a younge coconut, would love some feedbacks.
