I have a few cavities and I get some pain in them when i have eaten sometimes. i guess acidic and sweet foods are the worse.
(O/T i know but at the moment im not sure whether to get them filled with composites or try and heal them naturally, if you have any ideas on that please help me as its driving me mad at the mo. On the upside i recently found out from the dentist i had no Amalgams which is a bonus)
Currently am brushing my teeth with toothsoap (www.toothsoap.com)
I have expiremented with various mouthwashes, especially to take this cavity pain away.
on the theory it is bacteria causing the pain, tonight i tried again 8 horizontal drops of Lugols in about 4oz of water and took 3 small mouthfulls of this and gargled for a few mins each time (this has helped with the pain in all but one of the cavities)
I tried to google 'iodine mouthwashes' and someone said you gotta be careful coz they will stain your teeth.
Makes sense really, do you lot tend to agree with this? would this staining be kind of permanent do you think?
Finally if anyone could provide any of ideas for mouthwashes or anything to take away this cavity pain also appreciated. next on my list will be dilluted h2o2 and a baking soda solution (not together, separately).
An Iodine mouth rinse followed by Hydrogen-Peroxid swish will ensure no staining occurs, been doing this personnaly for over a year. Remineralization-chew some IP-6 a few times a week ( suggested by V), and add IP-6 to your toothpaste ( suggested by Newport).
Thankyou. Can i please ask around what strength h2o2 mouthwash you use? actually also Iodine mouthwash for that matter. its a good idea
Heard a lot about ip-6 on this forum last year, been meaning to try it but admitidly still don't know a lot about it yet. I would have to import it from america, i will buy some next time i place an i-herb order.
Edit: just ordered some ip-6 from iherb, i was gonna wait till i had the money to place a big order. they do sell ip-6 in the uk but its £19 +S&H for the jarrow 100g powder. i got 3 x 100g plus shipping from america for same price
I put straight Lugol's on my teeth/gums one night as sort of an experiment and it was gone the next day. You could try this in the back of your mouth and see what happens. It is my opinion that the same amount of Lugol's will stain less when mixed with oil than with water,
Cayenne and clove oil are good for temporary pain relief, directly applied.
