hi tom...lately, I've just been using powder that I got from a local herb shop, it's rated at 100 000 hu. I'm not certain of the quality, it seemed okay and makes me cry when I use it on food...hehe...so I guess it's not too bad. it did well for my blood pressure this last time too, but really, I like getting most my bulk from pacific botanicals. they have bird's eye cayenne now, but just not in stock. where do you get your cayenne, or is it homegrown?
I have some seeds to start. I've never grown cayenne before (or anything), but I'm hoping to eventually have some pots of it and then I'll finally have what I need fresh.
so far, I've just been using powder and not made a tincture. I have even used just 50 000 hu cayenne from pacific botanicals and that worked for when my blood pressure went up before. although by comparison, the 100 000 hu did work faster this time. I wanted to get very high quality cayenne for a tincture...although perhaps I should just make a small batch with this powder in the meantime, just to have with me in case I need it.
have you made cayenne tincture with just powder (rather than fresh and dried like dr schulze suggests)...does it turn out okay?
