I had food poisoning and I thought it a great time to try oil pulling. Well, after I oil pulled in the morning, around 3pm, I passed quite a few gall stones, including one black one! I have done a liver cleanse before, and am familiar with what gall stones look like, and they definitely were gall stones. It's fairly surprising to me.
From my understanding, oil pull works like putting a aspirin under your tongue; the membrane between the tongue and the blood vessels are very very thin; and so I assume that like when you swish with the oil, it's like reverse osmosis, and the bacteria and parasites are trapped in the oil. Whatever toxins are in the blood, probably pass through the membrane and are trapped in the oil as well..
Whatever the reasons, I passed out Gallstones and am fairly happy about that.
For the food poisoning, I threw a Watermelon into the blender, and drank it all. I also took a bath in epsom salt. So doing a lot better..
Oil pulling mechanism is still fairly unknown, but it seems that by placing oil in your mouth will trigger a response from liver and gallbladder to produce and purge bile (perhaps the the reason why you saw gallstones) - the same occurs when you eat any fat. Further more, as the liver is activated it may rattle up some toxins into the blood which can be released through saliva. Also any oil soluble substances in the mouth get dissolved in the oil and pulled out, perhaps improving the dental environment.
The thinner the oil mixture gets, the more saliva is present, which means more toxins out. However if you pull for too long the toxins may be absorbed back (places like tongue and under the tongue are known to be areas of quick absorption).
It is well known amongst Asian medicine that Watermelon cleanses the kidneys. I usually take a vegetable peeler, peel off the outer layer of a watermelon, and throw the rest into a blender; wherr wherr wherr, and drink WITH A STRAW. So you get all the seeds down you..
If you drink enough, it WILL give you the runs, but the "good feeling type", vs something like epsom salt, which I catagorize as the "bad feeling type". Your stool will be "reasonably solid" but it is a very good flush. Also, watermelons are highly enzyomatic, and so it does clean out the colon quite well.
