The small farmer has been inhilated by government and agribusiness, is veganism part of the plan to control us and keep us malnourished impoverished and dependent on them and thier deadly food products, taking from us even more of our freedoms, creating a waste land not fit for real life?
One of the biggest threats currently confronting the survival of the mixed farming systems of the world stems from the hypothetical fanaticism of the various vegetarian pressure groups. For vegetarians are unknowingly tearing apart and terrorising the environmental and sociological stability of the whole globe. If their ‘veganic' agricultural systems were to gain a foothold on the soil, then agrochemical use, soil erosion, cash cropping, prairiescapes and ill health would escalate if we were to carry on producing the quantities of foodstuff sufficient to feed our industrialised population
Are you so sure about that~ After all we are a product of our environment physically and mentally and the influences that surround us !
Much has been said and done to discredit the omnivore to the detriment of our society , to label all that has past as silly says something about ones discernment on such a serious issue!
Many who have decided to go vegan continue to beleive the same as you ,but how did we get there?? Is the influence of such hate groups as PETA and the influence of such misinformation groups like the Physician for Responsible Medicine and their hard line vegan twist not intertwined in the collective mind set?
Silly you say! Such a quick and childish retort for such an uninfluenced independent thinker like yourself! I would hope those with such beleifs could express a more substantial common sense reasoning behind their extremist views!
I think you have your hate groups mixed up-example of a hate group, the christian coalition and their beloved james dobson who bosts of beating his little terrier dog with a belt literaly up one wall and down the other so the dog would know his place in the home. Peta,a group of people concerned about the pain, suffering, and shear torture inflicted upon animals by the human race-how anyone finds that hateful is quite disturbing.
There are many hate groups in the world ,this does not exempt PETA in any way! PETA is a cult like group who uses fear tactics and other consensis forcing methods to drive thier divisionary agenda!
PETA instills hate in thier members claiming meat eaters are demented psychotic madmen who should be despised ridiculed maimed and even murdered if in the way!
I think if you really understood what PETA is really all about you might find it is as much a cult as the christian coaltion and as cruel as james dobsins pathetic behavior!
PETA is not an animal welfare organization.
PETA spends less than one percent of its multi-million dollar budget actually helping animals. The group euthanized (killed) more than 1,900 animals in 2003 alone -- that's over 85 percent of the animals it received. In fact, from July 1998 through the end of 2003, PETA killed over 10,000 dogs, cats, and other "companion animals" at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. That's more than five animals every day. On its 2002 federal income-tax return, PETA claimed a $9,370 expense for a giant walk-in freezer, the kind most people use as a meat locker or for ice-cream storage. But animal-rights activists don't eat meat or dairy foods. So far, the group hasn't confirmed the obvious -- that it's using the appliance to store the bodies of its victims.
Well lots of no votes from the veegans but no substance to thier arguments! Could it be that mind imprinting forges denial in the brain and a blank stare of indignancy! The vegan movement is out to destroy the open market and the loss of another inalienable right of all americans.
Supporting the likes of the nazis regime who now call them selves corporate america is like the hens supporting the fox,but oh no us self righteous veganites claim all life is sacred, except human rights!
Pawns are the unknowing and part of the problem are those who choose to close thier eyes to real truth!
Veganism has become just another extremist religion that throws common sense and logic out the window to support thier fantical veiwpoints!
Exposing PETA for what it is draws distain fron the reactionarey mindset called Veganism! A tool for the powers that be!!!
Wow!Sounds like soacialism and megaagrabuisness is your biggest issue. And to many people on this here planet.I suppose thats my falt, because i am fond of veggies. But I only eat organic, and grow a lot of my own food via sprouting and gardening.I focus on being as organic as possible while recycling using composting and vermicultures to build my organic base.Kind of like responsible farming practices.I believe you have mistaken the veganistic lifechoice with some political party.Veganism is no more a religion than omnimorism to suggest otherwise is absurd.Sounds like escapesed retoric from an angry omnivore.Peta doesnt represent the vegan or vegatarian lifestyle,to say that it does is wrong! To blame the sins of humanity on a dietary lifestyle is the most simpleminded idea ive heard today. It couldnt possibley be greed or coruption causing global problomes.Must be those damn veggies!!
I understand you indignancy! I myself was just giving a little pay back! I have many times been slam bashed and not only ridiculed but called criminal and worse for my own views.
I by no means am here to bad mouth personal choice and I respect your well thought out and gradual move into what you beleive is best for you! You obviously listened to your body and not the well place hyperbole and hate message of Peta and other forces of control !
Yes I am concerned about agribusiness and so should everyone and especially those who chose a vegan lifestyle to learn and understand the importance of the small farmer and the concepts of permaculture, sustanable and interconnected with nature and the importance of livestock in the cycle of food production!
Where your idea about socialism comes in depends on what you mean by the term and why you think my interest in mind control and forced consensis to devide people to distract them from the real issues in life, is what you call socialism, then I agree.
The free market is critical and Im not talking about the monopolistic system here in america we call free trade!
As I stated earlier, I totally suport personal choice , but I do abhor forced consensis and the agenda by these forces to drive the vegan concepts into the collective conscience of the peoples of the world.
And if vegans themselves are to become spokesmen for the vegan agenda then I believe it would be wise to be informed of the reailties of sustainable food production that follow the laws of nature.
This cant be done by hiding yout heads in the sand everytime you hear something that conflicts with your beleifs!
Either your philosophy is strong enough to stand up
to critique or it is not something that should be promoted as if it was without flaw and superior to anothers beleif system!
Sustaining life on earth with a massive growth in population will be overcome by techknowledgy.Living in the past as nice as it would be is impossible.I hope for our childrens sake that wisdom will dominate over greed in agricultural conserns.I see an organic growth in central Ill. it is still small but growing. Here corn is king and soy is queen, both unfit for human consumption.Mainly used to feed livestock and supplement our insatiable need for gasoline.I wish you the best of health and happiness!
Thanks for your concern for my health issues! But I dont beleive that technology in the futuristic sense will be the save all that you have faith in! My motto is Into the future through the past! If we dont regain the land through low tech natural sustenence farming I hardly beleive the corporate technology will be the answer, the PTB including those like Monsanto and Dow love your phylosophy Im sure but these are the tech people who use that very claim right now, that technology will save us and they have the technology to do so!
GMO products are a scam and a frankenstonian technology that this very moment is pirating land and resources under the claims of feeding the worldthrough better technology!
You say we cant go back to the past !!! And the PTB love that concept also,I say we either go back to the past agrarian concepts of our ancestors or we perish as a free autonomous healthy society!
First off I totaly agree with you about peta,I think they are delusional in there beliefs.I have been an omnivore for the majority of my life.I was not satisfied with my overall health and vitality on the omnivore diet.My choice is very self centered as far as diet goes.My transition to vegan was a lengthy one.If I feel a need to return to animal foodstuffs, for health reasons I will do so.Health and wellbeing is what drives my personal choices in life.A plant based diet is not extreme but it is difficult in a meat driven world.
Typical conditioned response! I see the vegan agenda pushing radicals have you shackled to unsound and harmful concepts my friend!
This is exactly what Im talking about when people are conditioned to respond in such a negative way to any opposing viewpoints !This poster makes my case very well! And so do all these no votes , thank you all!

Who writes this garbage?? Did they ever receive an education or are they living in the back swamps where Deliverance was filmed??? Vegetarians threatening and terrorizing the environment?? Come on. In general, vegetarians are much more likely to support organic farming which uses no chemicals and to be against huge conglomerates producing our food for us. These companies don't give a shit about you or me, only the bottom line. The amount of tampering they do to our food supply is incredible with all of the genetic engineering and injection of hormnones. They are killing the genetic diversity of plants and animals, making the world food supply much more susceptible to insect and pathogen outbreaks. And you are worried about vegetarians??????????? Go back and get your high school degree.
Well since I can see you have no real case for your side of the debate, name calling and the use of establishment misinformation is all you can bring to the table! I will bet money you dont even know what forces I'm talking about and I can tell by your statement that I doubt if you've ever researched anything on your own about the subject matter and like most of the politically correct uninformed just had to spout a little hate in your message because that is what these forces teach you to do!
I don't know what type of crackpot I am corresponding with but it is actually pretty funny to me. No I am not a vegan... Trying to blame the worlds problems on vegetarians isn't going to get you anywhere pal. I am constantly amazed by how threatened meat eaters are of vegetarians. They are constantly on the defensive like they feel they have to justify their meat diet and why it is really healthier and more natural then a vegetarian diet. I descended from primates pal, who eat very little meat. It is amazing the environmental nightmare that large scale factory farming of meat has done to the earth. From the trampling of fragile ecosystems by hundreds of thousands of cattle out West on the taxpayer dime to the all of the animal waste that ends up in watersheds (whether it be poultry or cattle). Now they have f_cked up the ocean by depleting the stocks of numerous sea species which is throwing the ocean ecosystem completely out of whack. Any scientist will tell you that it is a matter of diminishing returns in regards to the amount of feed that these animals need compared to how much food we get from them when they are slaughtered and put on the table. The worlds population is growing bigger by the day and we (not necessarily America) will face food problems/shortages in the future. Advocating the proper stewardship of the earth which is what most vegetarians do is critical. Worrying about some idiot throwing paint on a fur coat is ridiculous and just shows your lack of any education or common sense.
Well for someone whose is not a vegan you sure get out of sorts and still have not a clue as to what I am talking about! Your silly lame diatribe is without any real substance and just follows the course designed by those who wish to devide peoples!
Like all brain washed americans who compare the unsound unnatural acts of the establishment forces to the so called innocent puriton vegan lie is exactly what plays into the hands of the elitist who control you!
Its obvious you only read what you want to into this vegan myth you claim not to be part, but know all about! I doubt you even read this string in its entirety and are just mouthing off your mindless opinion!
I would like to see some substance to your propaganda and your references to these rediculous claims of yours! Or like most vegan or vegan supporters have no real references and just like to spout out your claims of superiority!
Hot air, no substance! Typical tripe from your side of the debate!
I think the point you're trying to make here - which nobody so far seems to get - is that the traditional agricultural practices followed by many small farmers use ecologically-sustainable organic farming that depend upon the inter-relationships between the livestock, vegetables and ground. And to pursue a vegan lifestyle discourages the maintainence of livestock, which in turn breaks the delicate cycle and requires chemical substitutes for their natural fertilizer (manure), which inevitably will deplete the nutrients from the soil and pollute the environment.
You are arguing that a vegan lifestyle does not promote a natural ecological balance. I admit that I don't have any knowledge about agricultural practices, but speaking from common sense alone, it seems that the traditional, natural methods are superior to today's industrialized chemical-laden perversion of what farming should be. And to that extent I agree with you. Whether or not the involvement of livestock - or lack thereof - is crucial to maintaining ecological balance is a question I leave to those qualified to discuss.
However, as most vegans strive to consume organic produce, I don't think any of them would encourage mass-farming vegetables in the place of cattle or poultry if it were in any way detrimental to the ecological balance. Many are very concerned with the environment, and I do not think that they would object to farmers having livestock if it were crucial to the preservation of the ecological cycle. Besides, nobody said they had to slaughter the animals and eat them! I personally don't think that the entire planet will EVER entirely convert to veganism, so in my opinion, this potential scenario is unlikely to become a reality. There will always be meat-eaters, or at least dairy eaters who will encourage the presence of livestock on this planet.
Should the world revert to traditional farming practices, it will be a salvation to the small farmers because the farms which are presently maintained through artificial means will require more attention and therefore more farmers. I am in support of small local farmers and have a great appreciation for their noble dedication to providing nourishment to the world, and would be happy to witness a return to the traditional farming practices that have been employed effectively for centuries. If that means that livestock is required for that purpose, then so be it.
