I've been noticing for a month or so that after I go to the gym and hop in the shower I'm attacked by a STRONG amonia smell. I've asked my doctor and she had no idea what it was, but was sure it was nothing. I've looked online, but couldn't find any threads there either.
I've just looked over Dr. Clark's book and noticed that she relates amonia odor in urine to parasites. But she doesn't mention in sweat. I haven't noticed any amonia oder in my urine.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did a parasite cleanse help?
I am speaking strictly of an amonia smell from the urine and not a body
smell from amonia and I have had it for some months now with the doctor
totally baffeled. There is one thing I just thought of... I had two total
hip replacements last year as I was in bed and couldn't walk with no hip
cartiledge at all on either one.. I didn't walk for five years and had
no choice.. could it be from that????
I will do a parasite cleanse however and keep everyone posted so to help
Hello momof3, You are the first person, besides myself, that has the amonia smell. The smell is without a dout related to parasites. Are you sure that it is amonia and not ispropyl alcohol? Take a whif of rubbing alcohol to be sure. I am starting to believe that the bacteria from my bad teeth are surviving my stomach acid and turning into ispropyl alcohol when they mix with bile acid. I believe this is why I am having a hard time breaking the vicious cycle of my parasite problem. Does your skin sting like mine does when you workout?
I recently had 11 of my teeth extracted since there were only 17 left. The top is all gone now after years of many thousands $ put in them. None of my teeth were rotten per se but had been worked on extensively and just weren't contrubuting to optimal health. The resulting "soft diet" and banishment of bad bacteria crashed my blood pressure. I only use 1/4 of my regular BP medicine now. I also feel a lot better mentally and emotionally. Sorry...no comments on Ammonia smell.
I smelled the same ammonia smell after gym workouts 10 years ago. I remember it happened regularly. I had no clue then of what it could be except some type of detox. I didn't know then what I know now. I have recently (in the last 3 months) gone back to more regular workouts 4xwk/45min and have noticed that old familiar smell only a couple of times. Mabe my body is not as able to detox as it was 10 years ago. You see, I still believe it's some type of body detox. Mabe it is parasites and/or toxic chemicals. I have made alot of changes to my environment/diet since being diagnosed with MS in late 99 (but no useless, yet damaging drug therapy for me). In the past year I removed many dental Amalgams and am 8+ months smoke free after 28 years.--If you figure it out, please let us know. -LBW
To be honest I can't tell you what it means.
I have experience this smell too. Maybe Im taking too much of the
sulfur cleansing herbs???? Maybe I don't drink as much water as I should????
My Mom went into surgery and was diabetic.
The nurses came and told me she smelt like that and suggested
that we tell her doctor about it.
They thought it was very bad for her to smell like that and I was suppose to know what they know about it and handle it.
Like the medical professional they tell you things half-ass and expect you to read between the lines and solve the problems totally.
Why couldn't these nurses tell me what it meant????
They acted like My Mom was undergoing something bad becuz of this smell of ammonia.
I wish I knew the answer.
The ammonia smell has nothing to do with parasites and is simply a by-product of aerobic metabolism during your workouts. I won't get into the science, but the ammonia is created when the body begins to run out of carbohydrates and starts to metabolize muscle protien during workouts. Increasing your carbohydrate intake before, during and after workouts should help reduce the smell.
